Buck Fiden? Glad to see the dumbass nicknames didn’t go anywhere. Also I haven’t said anything remotely worshipping about Biden. Just because he was better than a toddler doesn’t mean I worship him. But again nuance doesn’t get far with you. “He must worship Biden. He’s communist. He hates white people!” You should stop inventing positions for people.
Don’t confuse my lack of desire to continuously fix your ignorance with inability. I can do it as I have numerous times on this forum. But it is tiring.
I don’t know how true that is. Many people who buy purebreds will then spay or neuter them but mutts are the result of dogs still being able to breed. And spaying/neutering contributes to poor health.
I’d be willing to bet there are more impactful confounding factors contributing to poor health than whether or not a dog was fixed … both my dogs were fixed and they’re both in double digits and going strong…
Yep, those demon chihuahuas often live close to 20. I have Italian Greyhounds (small but a much better dog, likes to hunt, is athletic, doesn’t bite ankles, has deep bark, and is much much better than the chihuahua) and they often live past 15, and I have heard a few reports of 20.
I am definitely a non lap dog fan, so l hear ya. My 60 lb Standard Schnauzer - who saw himself as a lap dog notwithstanding, of course.
@mnben87 We had 2 Chihuahuas growing up (supposedly of benefit to an asthmatic younger brother?) and they would attack man or beast. 20 lbs instead of 2, and there might have been somebody killed. Lol
The Italian Greyhound is IMO a best of both worlds. They like to be in your lap, but also can sprint faster and jump higher than most dogs. They have a super high prey drive. They have a big dog’s bark. Just kinda best of both worlds IMO. Don’t have massive shits in the yard, don’t have to feed them a ton.
They look like this if you haven’t seen one. Mine are about 20 lbs, but are bigger than most of their breed. This one isn’t mine, but I have one that looks alot like this.
I love dogs. Especially during the colder seasons.
Joking. Just joking.
Seriously, @zecarlo, I thought neutering/spaying prevents disease such as prostate and ovarian cancers. I’ve never heard of any negative effects. Maybe it’s just the fucking SPCA bullshitting us to keep the stray mutt population down.
I can’t live with dogs. They irritate the fuck out of me BUT I don’t HATE them. I just don’t like being around them. I had a miniature Schnauzer/poodle mix that ran out of the front gate one day and couldn’t find it’s way home. My cats were all probably laughing at it even though they’re all indoor cats. I was seriously considering sending out the one I take outdoors for walks on a leash to see if it could find it but decided not to lol.
If we hadn’t spayed it and spent the night looking for the damn dog, it would have become a stray and started breeding with one of the mutt packs around the area.
Fuck, this is all going to be construed as series of racial innuendoes, isn’t it? #canceldt79
I don’t think it’s that bad nowadays. You can ask your mother how society has changed drastically in just 10 years. The first time I visited my wife’s hometown in 2005 or 2006, she was telling me never to go around on my own or I’d encounter lots of 黑店* even though I’d already been doing this shit for some time prior.
*hei dian: shops where they fuck with you in different ways when they know you’re a foreigner.
E.g, a small eatery with almost no customers would offer you some kind of authentic dish. Then they’d give you an absurdly exorbitant bill and lock the doors if you refused to pay. Extreme example, but it happened enough times to make the news.
Sorry about your cat. It’s why I keep them indoors and never let them out of my sight when outsiders drop by.
well, it’s not the ppl. I’d argue that rich, single young ppl treat their pets like royalty LOL
It’s the environment. There just aren’t that many places for dogs to run around in or for cats to roam as they want. Our dog and cat were quite unhappy living in a high rise apartment
I think some of the rural people still have some kind of “entitled” mentality.
I got my shoes stolen locally when I was living in a apartment several years ago. This has never happened even when I was growing up in a poor ass shithole in the same region. While vice and the violent crime rates were sky high(where I used to live), doing things like these are considered taboo over here.
Over here, we just leave our stuff outside since no one steals shit. Some of us don’t even lock our doors because we used to have some kind of “village culture” and people would look out for one another’s shit since some of the old village houses didn’t even have doors but it’s changed quite a bit nowadays (new generation, modernization and shit, nothing to do with immigrants.).
A bunch of construction workers from rural China were there to do some work on the same day my shoes went missing. It can’t be just a coincidence. My wife was telling me some of these guys from certain regions still have that 应得* mentality from the Cultural Revolution.
*ying de: Simply put, if I see you have better shit than me, I feel I’m also entitled to it and taking it is justified.
EDIT:
Immigrants from China in their 40s and above would face some kind of “culture shock” over here 10 years ago lol. Once, we saw a woman screaming at employees at a large retail chain with outlets in virtually every shopping mall here claiming they were trying to “cheat her”. Employees are just there to help out anyone with questions but they’re so dispensable and the turnover rate is so high the chain doesn’t even bother to train them with enough knowledge of their products.
My wife, ever the busybody, started to try to placate her by explaining that “this isn’t China” and employees don’t get incentives for sales, which isn’t part of their job scope, so they can’t be bothered to “cheat you” and it was most likely a misunderstanding about standard store policy.
She refused to listen probably because her brain simply couldn’t process this fact. I don’t know it it’s funny or sad since it shows lots of our vocations only require mindless zombies regurgitating company protocols without any powers of discretion.
It’s an odd time when different races and cultures worked together around the world to achieve a scientific miracle in record time to say “everyone stay in one little corner and don’t mix with anyone else!”
So stupid. Also to read and post on a website that has articles from an incredibly diverse cast of people? I guess stormfront’s section on health and fitness isn’t popular enough?
Well, the entire safety net concept, atleast in practice is what 100 years old? In the US I’d say mid 60’s we really bought into the concept of cradle to grave safety net. But let’s look at what we did before that.
How did human beings manage to mitigate risk and get by when they failed or fell on hard times? Family and charity (churches mostly). Schools and hospitals were almost entirely church based and non profit. Families relied on eachother more.
How did they work out for most people? Do you think the average kid had a better shot at healthcare and proper education then? Or did it not matter because he didn’t need school because he was working at 11 and might live to the ripe old age of 52?
I’m all about taking profits out of hospitals. Doesn’t really jive with capitalism. We have a lot of money we can make off sick people and need to continue to do so.
I also don’t know what’s stopping churches from doing any of that now. I know some do. But others well…those mega churches and jets for the leaders are going to cut into that charity.
But if (like in the old days) less kids got education and healthcare it would be much cheaper. If they want that stuff they should have been born to rich parents. It seems like it all that worked so perfectly people would never have voted to change it?
They just died. That’s what you want, huh? I bet you oppose at-will abortion, though. Hypocrite. I think I did this right.
Obviously none of those things worked, because they’re not how we deal with things today. People always vote for politicians that produce the best results, except for those exceptional instances that were later corrected. Or something.
