He ate like 5 plates of food and his wife at the time was bigger than most dudes. He is 5’4" and was easily in the upper 200s could have been closing on 300. He didn’t always stay within the 5-15lb weight range off season.
yeah, ive seen his pics, then how he cut so quickly and got shredded… hes going to mess his thyroid up one day ill be. probably allready has had problems, he might be able to get his hands on some good stuff to stabalize himself while he looses all that fat. but it scares me personlly.

In what bizarre world are we living in which those two pictures of Lee are equivalent to KFC Lee? I guess the same one where KFC Lee has abs. No offense, Shontayne, I’ve got plenty of respect for you, brah.
This pretty much. Lee Priest has been around for a long time now, I’m sure if he walked around most of the time looking as fat as he does in the KFC pic we would have some sort of evidence of it. No one is saying that Lee Priest himself stays within 5-15 lbs of contest weight or even close to that but i don’t believe for a second without evidence that he walks around looking like that 6 months out of the year and just hides in a broom closet avoiding pictures. After all were talking about a guy who posts youtube videos of himself eating at KFC and jokes about how he “looks like shit”. I doubt he is ducking from having a picture taken.
Also in before somebody tells a story of how this one time at band camp they saw Lee Priest and he was super fat but nobody got any pictures of it.

Are you serious with this? So everyone here discussing how heavy he got is lying?
I grew up on Flex magazine and this was no hidden effort. He simply didn’t do “as many” guest posings when at his heaviest. I am really shocked that you all thought this was all made up.
Oh wait…I get it…this is the latest version of “pics or it didn’t happen”…as if it is still a shock that the internet wasn’t quite so big until the mid-90’s and later.

Nah, man. You heard it. This is all an elaborate lie you must have made up.

I really don’t understand why people find it hard to believe he got that heavy. That’s pretty much “average” body fat for most people with a ton of muscle underneath. You can even see the outline of his abs…which means he isn’t much heavier than many of us have been when carrying more body fat and bulking up. He just looks different because most aren’t used to seeing him that way.
Have him eat before the picture is taken and that’s what you get.
This is a strange statement… No this isnt average bodyfat for most people with a ton of muscle underneath… Its been said in this thread that Lee was one of those going to the “extreme” as far as bodyfat is concerned… And no you cant see any abs there
This is a strange post, seriously… Its like your saying this is the “norm” for most bodybuilders… its not

?
I said MOST PEOPLE. Not MOST BODYBUILDERS.
Is the comprehension train late for some of you today or something?
I mean, I could see if even one of you had a legit gripe…but you don’t.

Lol, agreed they aren’t and weren’t intended as that. Just thought the video was entertaining and wanted to post another off season pic up for reference.
EDIT: Also, (aimed at OP) who would not want those arms!!!
Oh, I would LOVE those arms. It just seemed like Priest had such an extreme difference between on-stage and off-season. I saw some other pics of him that were rough too. I think that 290 is an exaggeration, but not by too much.
I mean, in some of those pics he just looks like a big, thick powerlifter. Like a Russian experiment gone horribly wrong.
And with his height, how did that affect symmetry on judging??? It seems like he would want LESS mass and more focus on lines. Am I wrong?

Who is everyone here? you? That picture doesn’t prove anything if you look at this pic and think he is in the same condition as the KFC pic you need to have your eyes examined. There are several pics of him in or around this condition which is still a pretty far cry from the KFC pics.
Anyway this is all rhetorical since i already know there are no pics other then the famous KFC pics of him in that kind of condition. I don’t even care if you or anyone else thinks that is what Lee Priest looks like whenever he isn’t in the public eye. You can keep on believing that is what Lee Priest and other bodybuilders secretly look like when were not looking.
My whole take home point originally was there was no actual benefit to being that fat.

Also, he isn’t 270lbs in any picture posted yet…and he wrote that he hit above that weight often in the off season…so assuming he was usually leaner than this might be a mistake. These guys weren’t exactly shooting from “5-15lbs” over contest weight.
It’s amazing that youre still on about this. Where it was explicitly stated that staying lean is the NEW norm.
You really are dense. And Im not talking about your muscularity. Ive never seen someone so afraid of admitting that he doesn’t know everything about everything.
Dude, several people have responded now of being tired of this. The one thing I’m NOT is dense.
This thread was about LEE PRIEST. What the fuck are any of you going on about?
Let’s see, I just got called out for posting a picture that is right on topic and now you keep talking about what everyone on stage today is doing.
How about you stay on the fucking topic or go the fuck away?
Priest is a pretty extreme example of bodybuilders offseason modes IMO.
It seems that most guys are either in the group of ‘growing into shows’ or being 25-50 or so lb over contest weight, the real difference between most and Priest is that they are still in very good condition and still at very lean levels. Most of these guys aren’t even getting to a point where anyone would consider them even soft, let alone fat.
Professor X wrote:
Not just that…but during that time, we are talking about a guy who stood out so much that the only reason he didn’t do way better is because of his height.
Obviously his way was working…so why change what works?
Sure he looked good ON STAGE, but I’m sure that his heart issue had to do with him getting so fat.
Also, I don’t believe his dosages for a second. IMO he’s trying to make himself seem impressive by needing less drugs than “regular humans”.
Considering his height and that fact that he never weighed more than 220 on stage, I think it’s very possible that he used <2g/wk. I obviously have no idea whether he’s lying or not but the fact that some guys he was competing against weighed almost 50 pounds more is relevant to your perception, I think.
All Mr O competitors have elite genetics (for max size and drug tolerance). Not all of them have freak genetics. If you look at priest when he was young it’s not hard to believe that he was one of the freaks.
This. Plus, given that Lee’s like an open book, I have no reason to doubt his claims. He hides nothing… which is most of the reason for the IFBB bans against him.

You made a post to me saying to ‘give it a rest already’ or something to that effect.
Then you go right back to making a claim attacking a strawman, implying someone said that bodybuilders from the 90’s stayed within 15 pounds of cntest weight in the offseason.
If you keep doing stuff like that to make yourself sound educated/right, I’ll keep calling your bullshit.
It’s a very very simple process, I assure you. Dont post strawmans intending to mislead the less informed and I wont have to fix your errors.
My posts have been just as on topic as yours as they are simply direct responses to YOUR POSTS.

This is my point. THIS is why I keep replying “off topic” DOCTOR X.
X creates a strawman and people believe it.
NO ONE SAID LEE PRIEST STAYED WITHIN 15lb OF CONTEST WEIGHT>
