Put all his real life BS aside and Tom Cruise is a great actor who would do the role justice. Only problem is that he’s short. Batman is roughly 6’2".
Was watching Ghost Protocol last night and Cruise seems to have the perfect old but still in shape build that I would envision an aged Batman to have.
Watch Jack Reacher. He’s not as in shape as he used to be. And Jack Reacher in the book is written as being 6’5" or something. Didn’t stop them from casting him. Either way, I can’t see it at all because, same reason I hated him as Reacher, Cruise does great in action movies but he’s not a tough guy by any means. He can’t try to be intimidating without coming off laughable.

If they are going older Batman then I think it has to be Brolin. Jeffrey Dean Morgan that Chris mentionsed would not be a terrible choice and supposedly he met with Snyder but Brolin would be better.
Look like Brolin is among those being considered by “inside sources”. So at least he’s on the radar.
I’m still partial to my first choice for an older Batman, Ray Stevenson. He’s 49 and supposedly around 6’3", he was great as The Punisher, and did the “anti-hero-type thing” again in Kill The Irishman. But he’s also in the Thor movies, so it’s most likely a no-go anyway.
Wouldn’t 6’3" be a little tall for the Batman character. And he is pretty freaking tall. He dwarfed everyone in King Arthur. Cant really have Batman matching Superman for size I don’t think. Which they may could figure that out, who knows.
