Who Should Play the New Batman?

BEN AFFLECK???

NO FUCKING WAY!

Sad

Very very very sad.

He was a horrendous at his last superhero attempt.

URGH

If they’d gone down the route of older batman, since they’re merging with superman too, I’d have love to see dark knight returns put into a film using Henry cavil as Clark and Daniel Craig as Bruce.

Affleck needs to do one hell of a cycle if he’s going to don the bat suit.

Ben Affleck has the hottest career right now in Hollywood. He’s one of the best directors in the world, and he stars in his own movies! He’s milking this latest wave of love like he did when he hit the scene with his BF (best friend) Damon after Good Will Hunting. He kind of fizzled out then, his career basically halted, and then he came back as this crazy intriguing interesting screenwriter/director that nobody knew he was.

The point? He knows showbiz. He’s a great director and actor, but more importantly has shown he is adaptable and concious of general sentiment; the latter of which you can get a sense of in his interviews and speeches where he acknowledges how people thought his career was over.

My recommendation is don’t hate until you see the final product.

He may be a good director and writer, but his acting sucks dick. He is the male version of Kristen Stewart to me.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner.

I can’t think of a single movie I like because of Ben.

Man, y’all are sleepin’ on Affleck for real. If they go the older Batman route, and stick to more Bats and less Bruce I think he’ll nail it. Also, he was in pretty damn good shape in The Town, and like I said earlier he played the quiet, introspective badass anti-hero really well. I think they could’ve done way worse.

Also, not that it matters anymore, but I think that Sean Penn in stilts would’ve made an INCREDIBLE older Batman. I don’t think anyone’s ready for THAT dark of a dark knight yet though.

but they could’ve done way better.

I hate Ben, and I will not go and watch this movie. Might wait till it comes on TV for free.

We are not the only ones disappointed by Ben being chosen.

“Chumlee from Pawn Stars #BetterBatmanThanBenAffleck,” one user quipped.

Who? And didn’t people say the same thing when Ledger was cast as the Joker? Obviously not expecting that level of performance, I’m just saying keep an open mind.

For Affleck to work, he needs about 40lbs of muscle and a face transplant.

I am actually hating way more than I should.

Affleck has grown a lot as an actor…I just hate many of his past movies…and I think Hollywood may be more to blame than him personally.

Dare Devil could have been way better. The only good thing in that movie was King pin.

With work he could do it…but getting everyone else to accept it is another story.

I just don’t see it…

Things have been worse though

Ya thats my issue. I actually think he can act the part. I never thought he was that awful of an actor. But he just doesnt have the Batman look. Then again, I never would of seen Hardy play Bane so who knows.

Didn’t people say Argo was a really good movie?

I dunno; I’ll give ol’ Ben a shot.

And neither did Bale, and now I have a hard time seeing anyone else as Bruce Wayne/Batman. I think what X said in regards to the public seeing Affleck as Batman is right. It’s gonna take some awesome previews to start changing public perception.

We kill the Affleck.

This was my point with The Town. It was awesome, and Affleck did great. Haven’t seen Argo, but heard it was also awesome, and he did a great job again. Look, I’m as “nervous” about future Batman(s) as anyone. I’m just sayin’ give Affleck a shot before automatically shooting it down.

The Town was awesome. Argo was really good as well. He can add 20-40lbs to his frame. Most importantly, he has been aching for an opportunity to make up for DD so he is going to take this very seriously.

I wouldn’t have ever even considered him BUT I think we should wait and see. The guy might just pull it off. Two Oscars is nothing to sneeze at and Jennifer Gardner loves him. That’s gotta count for something!
