epic workout tonight 500x4 deep pause squats!!!
had some fun with todays workout and decided to ramp up the suck factor. After my 4 worksets of 500x3 I decided to do my last set as all paused reps. then I ramped up my band tension on the bench from a regular mini band to a monster mini, and kept the fun rolling with some speed pause squats before doing some beltless rep work with 405… all in all was a pretty good day

This Chalk Talk is really really invaluable for me, thanks for doing this. Amazing lifting!
Your chalk talk vids are awesome dude, and this one re: Sheiko is so 100% spot on. When someone asks about it now, I’m linking that vid (If that’s ok with you, of course)

Haha, I was planning on doing something similar to the “Chalk Talk” on my log, but you pretty much already answered the questions people have asked me.
I need to go and visit your gym over the summer dude, excellent work.

I was going to post it in your log, if you hadn’t seen it. LOL
Hey man read through a good portion of your log, excellent lifts. I’m wondering if you drink(alcohol) at all?
I’ve been training sporadically for two years, never really fully committing. While drinking heavily 3-4 nights a week, obviously going to stall any serious progress. For the past month I haven’t been drinking at all, passing on social activities or going sober. My lifts have been seeing steady improvement as a result of that, and other factors (two a days, proper diet and supplementation.) So basically I’m just wondering if and how often you consume alcohol and how much it deters from your lifts.
Also my squat and deadlift have gone up significantly during this time (50+lbs) but my bench has actually decreased possibly due to de-loading for 3 weeks right before I started 2 a days.
Sorry for the questions, any answers are appreciated.
455x10 RAW Squats@ 201

all in all a good day. The top set of squats was easy muscle wise but my conditioning is still pretty bad so I was pretty gassed at the end. looking forward to the heavy work for next week
605x3 raw conventional deadlifts and 195x4 strict press @202 lbs
Felt pretty creaky today but your body lies to you so I sucked it up and smashed some unexpected PRs
Strict press
45x5
95x5
115x5
135x5
155x5
175x3
195x4
140x10x5
Deadlift/box squat
supersets
405x3/225x3
3 sets
Conventional Deads
495x1
add belt
605x3(PR)
haven’t worn a belt for conventional pulls in about 2 years, And my best conventional set for reps was 585x2 so today marked a pretty big PR.
GHR
10x4
Ab wheel rollouts SS with GHR leg raises
10x3
felt pretty pleased with todays session. The military presses were rough but they are still coming along well. Deadlifts really surprised me considering I was thinking about just trying to tie my 585x2 PR. I think that I might continue working my conventional pulls on saturdays because I think they definitely make my sumos feel much better… I’ll figure it out. Heavyish squats monday till then it’s time to rest up and recover
Hey man. Just letting you know I’m still in your corner offering support
Awesome training. Thanks a lot for the continued chalk talks, very informative man.
Awesome stuff, such power on the 405 box squat medleys, really crazy stuff!
In relation to your chalk talk question pool… How should I go about approaching my first meet? By this I mean just general tips for prep the week before, what I should bear in mind when choosing my openers/second/third lifts and things to remember on the day. Any light you could shed in this regard is really and truly appreciated!
