thanks brother, and I thought that might be well received. For the record about 30 minutes after I posted it I got a couple of random friend requests from some ladies… score 1 youtube haha
First day back at Central, it always takes me a few weeks to readjust to the equipment. The benches here are less than stellar. slick and low to the ground. This usually results in me sliding around and fighting to keep my butt from coming up because any mistakes in my leg drive pop my hips right up.
Good news is that my squats are still improving depth wise I bottomed out the first few sets to the point where my hips even dipped under so I brought the last few sets back up a little bit to help prevent my spine from overloading it.
Bench
w/mini band
185x5
225x4x2
265x3x2
295x3x2
315x2x3
295x3x2
Squats
135x3
225x3
315x3
add belt
425x3x2
495x3x4
495x6
close grip bench
205x5
245x5
280x4x5
Cable fly
10x4
Single leg press
8x3
Crouched rollouts
10x5
tomorrow is a rest day and also the official start to my new eating plan
epic video
Great Q n’ A vid Ben, much appreciated!
My question for you next video would be regarding Olympic lifts and how (if at all) you include them in your powerlifting focused training.
Thanks for doing the video Q&As, couple questions that might best be answered on that.
-
Anything diet related, specifically how to stay lean at all times when the easiest way to improve lifts is gaining weight.
-
Your training style (Sheiko still?) Did you make your best gains doing that or something else? Advice for anyone interested in that high frequency style training, almost never see logs with strong people benching and squatting in the same workout at least on this site.
great vids, waiting for second Q&A
Haha video was great, right up until you said sup to the ladies.
Was a little bit tragic.
On the knee injury guy, ligaments will rarely tear unless the force applided is sudden, such as an impact. So while heavy squatting will hurt, the risk of re-injury is quite small. Its important though to make sure you use the joint often, and in a full ROM. Body weight ATG squats for example, keeps everything loose and flowing.
What do you study, out of interest?

yup just got back to school so I’m looking for a chance to sit down and cover the rest of the questions. Those videos take a little bit longer to put together because I have some time issues to worry about and the subtitles are a pain to work out but I think they really help answer the questions so I want to keep the quality up. will hopefully have it up soon
