Who Has Done the V-Diet?

The best way to diet for most people is to cut back your calories and do cardio…assuming you are eating high protein already…if you are not then you are wasting your time in the first place…

It’s trial and error at first(it’s similar to trying a new exercise for the first time)…but eventually you gain a deeper understanding on how your OWN body works…you figure out how much food you need to eat to lose weight…

once you get good at that then you can get more advanced and start manipulating your carbs and whatnot…

people just blindly follow shit disregarding what their own body is telling them…I know plans and whatnot may be necessarry in the beginning to give you an idea of how to structure a diet, but you need to learn how to eventually make adjustments based on your body’s responses…

I tried it out of curiosty, didnt lose any more or less fat than any other times ive dieted down using different approaches.

Didnt lose any cravings or any of that magic either,

I wouldnt do it again. There’s Just so many other far easier ways to skin the fat loss cat.

I did it for two weeks before I ended it. I’m pretty sure I could’ve made all 4 weeks if I believed in it, but I stopped early because I really thought I was doing more harm than good at that point. The initial reduction in bodyfat was pretty astounding, though.

I truly did feel horrible, though. I don’t understand how these V-Dieters do it, or at least how they don’t make a big deal of how impaired you become. You really just become like a walking zombie. I did it during school, so I had to ride my bike 10 minutes each way (BMX, always standing, btw) to school 1-3 times a day.

I’ll also add that I did it to kickoff my dieting for my first competition before dialing back into more moderation. I remember I’d just gotten JB’s Gourmet Nutrition and was pretty much in heaven once I ended the V-Diet and dove into cooking the most extravagant things I ever had. My inspiration to cook was naturally at an all-time high, as I hadn’t eaten any freakin’ food in two weeks!

By the way, I also HAVE to mention that my normal eating habits are pretty immaculate. I never cheat, I eat vegetables all day long, varied fruits and many berries.

I must say that the starvation on the V-Diet had me craving ANYTHING. For the first time in years, I wanted PIZZA, I wanted PASTRY, I wanted CHEESESTEAKS, I wanted ANYTHING. Whereas before, I stuffed my body with nutrients it needed before it cried for them, on the V-Diet I wasn’t getting ANYTHING.

I also remember starting to eat salt with my flax seeds because I was concerned about a mineral imbalance since I was so light-headed all the time.

That was probably due to lack of carbs.

I’ll be doing a more moderate approach this week.

roughly
3,000 cals
35% fat
25% carbs
40% protein
