Now that I see the size difference, it looks like they just built up Carwin so Lesnar can walk through him. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a punchers chance but Lesnar is the bigger of the two.
He looks to have the better stiking and certainly has KO power. If his TD defense is good enough to keep it standing he should have more than a punchers chance. Even if he is the same size as Mir, he should have better wrestling and certainly won’t be as willing to be taken down and work off his back.
His striking should actually help him keep it standing as well. Lensar hasn’t shown very smooth transitions, so Carwin should be ready to send some shots his way every TD attempt.
In space - Carwin
In the clinch - who knows
On the ground - Lesnar
So, him going from 6’4" to 6’1" while still weighing 260+ AND having bigger hands and almost as long a reach makes him less of a monster? All of a sudden people are acting like the 3" he lost from hyperbole to reality lessen his chances. All that means to me is he actually has more muscle on his frame and a lower center of gravity. He also still has silly power in that right hand and more experience in the cage, at least in terms of # of opponents.

Why? Because he’s from Brazil? Both are Black Belts. I understand it wasn’t a BJJ match, but Mir beat Nog.
Of all the HWs Gonzaga may actually have the best grappling creds:
ADCC Submission Wrestling Championships
Record of opponents:
Won: Mustapha al-Turk (pts), Ricco Rodriguez (pts), Marcio Cruz (pts), Eduardo Telles (pts)
Lost: Jeff Monson (pts), Xande Ribeiro (sub)
2006 Winner CBJJO Copa Do Mundo Black Belt Pesadissimo Winner CBJJ Mundials Black Belt Pesadissimo
2005 2nd CBJJO Copa Do Mundo Black Belt Pesadissimo 3rd CBJJO Copa Do Mundo Black Belt Absolute 2nd place ADCC +99 kg
2003 2nd CBJJO Copa Do Mundo Black Belt Pesadissimo 2nd CBJJO Copa Do Mundo Black Belt Absolute

ADCC is not MMA…Nog is best BJJ HW practioner when applying it to actual fighting…which I’m sure is what was intended when ZEB made that comment.

I hope it is a good fight but I still think that Fedor is the best guy to beat Brock
man more and more i see the UFC turning into WWE.
Explain please? If you’re referring to Brock’s behaviour, I personally have never bought this whole TMA fighter respect thing. It’s very cool to see humble and classy guys like Henderson and Fedor, but I sure as hell don’t expect them all to be cool like that. Having some people who are crazy disrespectful motherfuckers is not actually out of place in a sport where men beat each other half to death in a steel cage IMO.
then thats why they should stop calling it MIXED MARTIAL ARTS. A better name would be FreeStyle Fighting. If the competitors don’t want to act like martial artist then they shouldn’t tag that name to it anymore. My problem is the uneducated fan base that has arrived with the success of the UFC alot of which are the same dipshits who watch WWE and seem to except the same gay ass drama they get with there gay ass soup opera.

I’m sure that you’re sophisticated enough to understand the glaring differences between the skill levels of black belts. For example some black belts might lose to brown belts, still others win major world Jiu-Jitsu titles.
Yes, he did beat him but did you notice that he would not go to the ground with him? The reason that he wouldn’t go to the ground with him is that he realizes that Nog is better on the ground than he is.
In the end I think that Mir’s opinion probably counts more than your’s, or mine.
