have you tried the glenn pendlay 5x5?

I finsihed the advanced program 2 weeks ago and I oblitereated all my old PRs. The volume is heavy the first month and the last week of volume is a killer but once you deload it’s amazing.

Eerily enough, I was just reading about this in another thread [maybe by you?]. It looks really fun, but for the time being I’m gonna be lifting and playing ball/running/jumping, so gonna try and get my strength back while also getting my legs back. For shits and gigs, how’d you set your training up?[/quote]

I don’t like to think unless I have to so I plugged in my most recent workouts weights as 5RMs sicne I was already doing the beginner/intermediate one. The first week of volume takes you back like 30 pounds off that number so the week I took off (I think) didn’t matter too much.

But since it’s an excel sheet I plugged, chugged, and lifted. No fuss no muss.

Workout went well. 275 was smooth, got 295 about an inch off the box and my hamstrings and hips just weren’t havin’ it. Chillin’ manana. Doing RE upper on Thursday and sprint and jump shit on Friday. Ya’ll be easy.

Not gonna post what I eat anymore, 'cause I’m relatively certain no one gives a shit.

Sounds fun. I’ll definitely check it out at some point. Thanks man.

Are you just ramping up to a 3-5 rep max? Or do you have any set planned increments? Just curious… as I have said before, that’s always what I struggled with on WS4SB

Flash, what’s the good word man? Hope Westside is working out for you. How is the knee coming along?

What do you think of the Ariza/Artest “swap?” I think the Lakers get the better deal short term, but let’s see what Ariza can do without his supporting championship cast. He wasn’t that great in ORL when he first got to the Association, but has gotten better, along with playing for the Lakers. The next two years sets the precedent on what kind of player he will be.

I’m happy with the Thunder’s picks (James Harden from Arizona State, which I was telling my friends three months ago we need this guy), BJ Mullens from Ohio State (gives us inside defensive presence, and any offense is a bonus, and Robert Vaden, shooter from UAB.) I think all three guys have a very legitimate shot of making the roster.

Peace

Not really other than I want to get 3+ sets at 90% of my final set. You still doing 5/3/1?

Not sure what to think of it other than I don’t think it makes either team better. I Like the Thunder’s picks. Think I even mentioned Mullins to you somewhere in this log. Kid’s got potential. Be easy homey.

Went to a different gym than normal and everything felt a little heavier. Even so, progressed a bit from last week. Didn’t warm up at all which was stupid. Gym was packed so couldn’t superset back stuff. Some guy asked to work in on the rows 'cause he needed to “work his wings”. Ya’ll be easy.

Played ball for damn near two hours last night. Was great, but my left knee’s killin’ me! Got a few dunks, hit a few deep j’s and overall just had fun. Picked up a cho-pat [jumpers knee] strap and am gonna wear it for everything, literally. ME lower fun tonight. I’ll holler.

Do you find the fart noise helps with explosion out the hole?

Had more on the squats but my knee was killin’, so called it. Gonna get 5 at 275 next week and switch to regular back squats. Did no single leg stuff 'cause of the knee. Ya;ll be easy.

That knee feeling better yet brother?

Man, the right one [surgically repaired] feels great, but I have severe tendonosis in the left and it fucking kills, but I’ll figure it out. Thanks brother.

Clean and presses were tough. Reset the bar on the floor after every rep and was smoked by the 3rd rep of the 1st set. Really tucked the elbows on the nuetral grip bench, felt it in the tris like no other. Cut the workout short 'cause I had to meet the old lady for dinner. Ya’ll be easy.

Warmed up for a bit over half an hour by shooting countless jumpers. Gonna do this and/or play before every session. Also, don’t know if I mentioned but I generally do some bastardized warm-up of what’s outlined in MS. Anyway…

Damn good workout. Was at my old gym and wound up working in with a guy of similar strength through all pressing movements. Needed help on the second rep of 255, but finally got all three at 245 on my own. The inc was set four notches higher, and it still felt easier than last week. Strength’s coming back slowly, but guess that’s better than not at all. Some guy stole the cable stack where I was ss’ing scarecrows, so called it. I’ll holler manana.

Actually I care, I like to see people’s diets and works for them and how they make adjustments as they see fit for their goals.

As a long time supporter of this thread, I DEMAND you post your diet, or else I will come to Houston and dunk on you with my 65" vertical. That’s 11 inches higher than Shawn Kemp. Then you can confiscate the tape and say it never happened (freakin Nike).

Hope all is well. I see the knee is getting stronger, but tendinitis on the left side. Hope it gets better soon. Peace bro.

Ha! What do you think about that tape being confiscated? To me LeBron’s coming off as an ass. He’s likeable when he wins and a sore loser spoiled brat when things don’t go his way. I might be hatin’, but I like to see him get knocked down a peg after David Stern’s been letting him get away with murder. It’s actually tendonosis man. It sucks, but I’ll figure it out. Be easy homey.

I agree, LBJ is coming across as a jerk. Very much a spoiled baby. It always has to be his way or the highway with him. I don’t think David will knock him off his throne, but it would be nice for him not to be in the spotlight all the time. But I don’t see that happening though.

Hope the tendonosis gets better soon.
