Group 1 are in a hazardous environment. Group 2 arrive, who are more intelligent. Will Group 2 outperform Group 1?
Simple answer - Group 2 will gather the resources to build a boat and return to Finland.
Longer answer - their higher intelligence will result in increased ingenuity and ability to function as a group (less in fighting than Group 1). This will see them prosper to a greater extent, while still being as restricted by resources as Group 1.
I believe that this has already been shown in places like Finland - months of total darkness, extreme cold and inherent difficulties with agriculture. The darkness and cold alone are probably about as worse as you could get for trying to build a society, imo.
