Why do you think white societies have largely out-performed those of sub-Saharan Africa? Or New Guinea? Or First Americans? Or take your pick of anywhere else?
What do you think contributed to the emergence of those societies that was lacking elsewhere?
You’ve already said IQ. Fair enough, but I’m wondering if you can think of any other reasons why that might be.
And while we’re on that subject, why do you think different populations ended up with varying IQ test scores? At some point we all looked pretty similar and, presumably, had more uniform cognitive abilities. What do you think caused the divergence?
Another question would be, why is it some Asian nations have higher IQs than “white” nations but haven’t out performed them?
Why is the English IQ not the highest in Europe, let alone the world? That’s embarrassing. No wonder you lost an empire of third world nations.

The higher the IQ, the more understanding of the world you will have. So lower crime, more empathy (a big one in building communities imo), ability to maintain functioning relationships, ability to reason, and those kind of things.

Differences in IQ - many reasons.
- I believe a significant one is that, for example, those leaving Africa at first were likely inherently more inquisitive about the world, and more intelligent than those who stayed. To an extent.
- I think that it was MUCH tougher to survive, in places such as Finland, due to the climate alone, in comparison to those in Africa. The less intelligent will have died off and the smarter ones survived, in my Finland example.

Do you believe that the conditions for success over the last several hundred years are equally present in Finland and New Guinea, with only IQ to explain the disparate outcomes?

I believe groups faced different challenges over huge amounts of time, tens of thousands of years.
I think that a major reason in disparate IQs between groups is the Darwinian evolution of some groups due to the conditions they faced.
I also didn’t think my initial answer directly dealt with IQ in the way it is commonly perceived. As I was talking about human behaviours and how they were linked to intelligence.

A large boat with thousands of young Finnish children crashes on New Guinea in the 1100’s. Adults are all dead and the children are left to integrate into New Guinean society, which generously takes them in.
Do you suspect these children will find a solution to the complete lack of working animals like horses and oxen, as to kickstart more efficient agriculture? That is, of course, if they manage to survive the tropical diseases. Let’s pretend that they do. What about tool-making materials? How do you think the white mind will overcome the poor mineral deposits? How can they get New Guinea into the bronze age, so they might start cutting wood more efficiently and perhaps even develop farm implements?
How does IQ help in a situation like that?
