I am not a cycling fan and don’t care one way or the other if Landis gets to retain his trophy (or whatever) but I read in the paper today that one of the reasons offered for his highly elevated t-levels was that he had been drinking whiskey and beer the night before. Shit, I should have nuts like bowling bowls.
I have heard that a couple of drinks might raise test. I would guess that the raise is short lived. This excuse given by Landis is a crock of shit.
There is a difference between acute, long-term, and chronic effects of ethanol consumption.

they tested the istopes of the carbon in his test and it was synthetic. that guys a liar
And here I was thinking that drinking alcohol lowers test levels. I’m gonna start knocking down a 6 pack a night and I should be a monster in no time.

I think your initial assumption was correct about alcohol lowering testosterone levels.

I’ve always heard that it lowers t-levels.

Not if there’s synthetic testosterone in the beer and whiskey.
I can hear him now, “The head trainer gave me a shot glass full of something and a pint glass with another liquid. He told me it was whiskey and beer and that I should drink it. So I did.”
It does seem strange that only one test showed the synthetic T in it, especially when it doesn’t work as an instant booster that would impact his performance as drastically as his performance was impacted.

You need to understand the what it actually does. It lowers overall test levels. However, the issue regarding Landis is that alcohol can increase the ratio of certain testosterone levels. Alcohol decreases the epitestosterone in the sample which in turn increases the overall ratio.
Landis had a high test ratio.
yeah man and you get so horny with the ladies with alcohol because you actually have testosterone levels similar to pro bodybuilders when you’re drunk. you probably knew that though.
alcohol lowers testostorone levels, but increases the T levels in your urine… so you’re pissing out all the testostorone
