Whey Protein w/ Fat.....A Bad Combo?

I was wondering if consuming whey protein concentrate or isolate w/ fat would be a bad idea since whey protein provides an insulin spike? Hence this would be like having a P+F+C meal all in one. Not a good idea…right??

Don’t know which whey product you consume, but surely if it has lots of carbs you don’t wanna mix it with fat. Even if it doesn’t contain any carbs, you don’t want to consume it with fat, as P+F meals usually need to be consumed later in the day, where you want a slowly digested meal, and whey is just about the fastest digested protein.

Not for post workout. But if you need a catch-up meal quick or are in a pinch and need cals etc it is perfectly fine to combine the P+C+F. Just check out the “Get Big Diet”.

What’s the deal if your whey protein has nearly zero carbs? Still no good?

Maybe I’m crazy, but since when does whey (not a whey shake with alot of carbs, but a low carb whey shake), cause an insulin spike? Alot of people I know take a whey shake with Flax seed oil or Natural Peanut butter…same with a whey/cas. blend with the above mentioned fats.

Yeah, fuck all this shit. Whey is broken down/absorbed faster, there’s no isulin issue.

I’ve read about the insulin issues with whey before at T-mag. Can’t remember what article though. I think Udo has talked about this as well. Run a search.

Anyway, a blend of whey and cassein is always better, except post workout where whey-only is better. Lots of t-mag articles about this.

Whey is just a better,faster absorbing protein for post workout with the simple carbs to CAUSE the insulin spike…just calm down and mix the whey with fats,i do it all the time and it has not fucked me!
