Where's Stan McQuay?

What happened with Stan? Is he still a Biotest athlete. I don’t need details, but would like a simple yay or nay :stuck_out_tongue: lol

I liked having that little glimpse of bodybuilding here.

My other ‘calls’:

Stan is no longer sponsored and Cy Willson is “on sabbatical.”

We weren’t happy with the format of the Physique Clinic, so it’s back to the drawing board on that one.

If we can figure out how to make it more interesting, we’ll do it again.

So, not only have I called ReceptorMax, but also the fate of the Physique Clinic.

I make me blush when I’m right.

Physique clinic was OK, it was lackluster in the point that Novagreg was a complete failure, and the only skinny guy in there had to drop out early.

So the two people that most people could relate to (Fat boy & Skinny guy) didn’t really do much.

Stan McQuay is now a rep for some company called Extreme Phyical performance… He’;s looking a little smaller than usual. Check out MD;s new mag… there is an ad with him as their rep… Director of Physical performance is his ‘title’… i guess there was a falling out with Biotest…

The Physique Clinic was a really good initiative, and produced some great reading material when you had people that could stick to their diets and training. I’ll suggest that we could have a forum thread with an open discussion with you about how the Physique Clinic could be made more interesting and started anew?

I do have a few ideas, and I’m sure a lot of other bright minded T-Nation users have valuable contributions too.

I found the Physique Clinic to be eye opening…but probably not in the way intended.

No disrespect to either the participants or the coaches but i came away thinking wow…so if i i hire the best coaches in the world and spend god knows how much on supps i can expect more or less similar results to what i get now

Right, wrong or indifferent with the exception of Gus, I’m not sure any of the results made the kind of statement that Biotest was looking for.

I thought it was pretty ballsy to do it “live” rather than waiting till they were all done and publishing the good ones

Just my two cents.

The Physique Clinic has tons of potential, yet not all of the partipants took it and ran with it. This is what I found to the most frustrating. Many of us sat here, watched and read the progress being made by some, while others just coasted by with no effort put into it. I know that those behind the Physique Clinic are not physically present with the partipants to make sure things are going according to plan, but for the rest of us who applied and hoped we would be picked, I think we got the shaft.

Should the Physique Clinic come up again in the future, I think screening some of the people more effectively should be a priority. People like NovaGreg just fucked it up for many.

I never bought into Flex’s competing as a natural. Because he had basically shut his own production down from so many years on anabolics, he was still on weekly test injections, but because he had a medical reason (administered by a doctor each week), he claimed he was natural.

What about a guy who actually needs TRT because of the cards he was dealt? If he was taking his 100mg/wk injections and nothing else would you consider that unnatural?

I agree that Flex is most definitely NOT natural, no matter what he is or is not taking right now, but is there some grey area with other guys?

These are just harmless questions I’m throwing out there because it’s the first time I’ve come across this sort of thing.

This is a complete hijack of the thread. Sorry Gerd. If it goes anywhere past a couple of posts I’ll make a new thread or use PM.

IMO, if someone has never used anabolic steroids except under medical supervision and the doctor administering the treatment was aiming only to keep levels midnormal, then it could arguably be unreasonable to call the person a steroid user from the standpoint of whether he should be eligible for a natural competition.

However, even HRT that is medically supervised but aims for the high end of the normal provides an advantage that the individual probably would not have had if not for his medical problem. He doesn’t belong competing with those who are playing only with the cards they are dealt in a competition designed to be limited only to such persons.

The “high end of normal” part was exactly what I had in mind when I thought about it and came up with my opinion.

Guys on HRT are usually taking other drugs that manipulate hormones that, I assume, are banned in natural competitions. AI’s and HCG…

O well

lol no prob dood I like this topic better and this thread was brought back from the dead…it’s like 4 months old or something lol :stuck_out_tongue:

DG

to be honest if you are on HRT you are already injecting…might as well bump the dose…grow a bit more, then step on stage with the big boys instead of going natty.

no knock on natty comps or competitors, much respect, just sayin…
