If you ever check an old thread you’ll see a lot of avatars that you’ll notice you haven’t seen in a long time.
It doesn’t help when people keep an avatar for a long time then change.
For example, I’m used to Stuntman Mike having Kurt Russell as an avatar, so when he changed it I thought he’d gone.
I mean I know lots of people’s names here but I always look at avatars first.
A theme helps, as Professor X always uses appropriately angry avatars. I used to have Jesse Ventura as Blaine from “Predator” and then Robert Duvall from “Lonesome Dove” but have had Roddy Piper from “They Live” for about 2 years now and I think many people associate it with me to the point where many display some disappointment that I do not look like him.

P.S. Sen, I did make a thread about where is Sen Say. Or at the very least, it was a post in someone elses missing thread. Or possibly I thought about posting it in someone elses thread. Then again I could have thought someone else should post it in another thread. It was one of those though.

This is true. I wouldn’t know about the They Live movie without your avatar reference. If ID put his real face I’d scroll past. Many are now sporting similar T-shirts and that’s still confusing.

Did any of you ever consider the worst? In the absence of a particular poster, does it ever cross your mind that maybe this person had died? We’d never know of it.
^^ I’ve thought that before too. Kind of morbid, but it may have happened once or twice. Funny how you’d never know, as someone could stop posting and it’s hard to notice when something’s missing sometimes.
Like when my friend list on facebook goes down…sometimes I’ll skim my friends list to see if I can tell who’s missing but I never can.
