Hey guys,
I am new around here as far as posting but have been reading for about a year now.
I was hoping to get a bit of advice from you all.
I will give you a quick background so you can give a better answer to my question.
I started lifting seriously at 17 in high school. Stayed with it for 2 years solid got a really good amount of results, and then I moved and fell out of the loop with what all that brought about. I have recently got back into it and now that my muscles remember what its like to be used I am looking for a solid program.
My overall goal is to put on size and to slim down. I lack the most discipline in dieting, but I am cutting down slowly. By the way, I am 5’11 235. My upper body is thick I hold all of my weight in my stomach. My legs are very lean and like I said I have a fair amount of mass on me.
I know that its hard to say anything without pictures, but I was wondering since I do have a good amount of background and since I have never been lean…is that where I should start at?
Part of me wants to cut down to see what I am working with…the other part is telling me I already am carrying the extra bodyfat, and I should just bulk up.
For anyone who has been where I am…I am sure most of you have…I would really appreciate your insight as I know most of you carry a great deal of knowledge on the subject.
If there are any details I have missed about myself then let me know and I can try to paint a better picture.
Like I said my goal is to just look better. Lose the love handles and put on some solid lean mass. I am not out to look like a Mens Health model within a year or something like that. I know that this stuff takes time.
Thank you…sorry to draw it out so much…
