I know that muscle can?t turn into fat or vice versa. But what other things happen (other than muscle memory loss) when you stop lifting weights?

Anabolism stops so catabolism sets in to a certain degree till you go back to a certain baseline. Metabolism also slows down thus allowing easier fat storage, thus the term muscle turns into fat. Your body becomes less efficinet in the ATP synthesis pathways like creatine phosphate and glycolysis. laters pk
