When You Miss a Workout

When u guys miss a workout what do u guys do. It prob doesn’t happen every often but sometimes u miss a session here or there. Do most of you say ok i missed it what ever it only 1 workout do do u, for instance say u missed arms day, do u just throw in some exercises for biceps at the end of maybe back or something to that effect. How do u handle missed workouts?

whatever was supposed to be for that day gets moved to tomorrow…and then the universe stays in equilibrium.

lol

I try to miss workouts only because of mayor causes. Some weeks ago I had an ear infection, and felt 5 days straight like complete crap, but I took just 3 days off (btw I go crazy when I take a single day off).

I’m like a stimulus addict, to an extent that, when I can’t sleep (I’m taking a fat loss supplement that increases my sleeplessness), I go 6 am when the gym I train’s opened, train rested bodyparts and go to home and fall asleep.

This week I had a pain on my knee that didn’t let me walk very well, so I’m already waiting for leg work. I’ve had minor injuries on my left pec, that’s why I’ve learned the bad way sometimes it’s better to rest a bodypart the time necessary than having a workout lacking in performance and that increases risk of injury.

If I missed my workout today, I’ll do it tomorrow.

This is what I do. Just roll with it.

I cry like a baby and eat a box of those chocolate doughnuts.

X3.

Pushing the schedule back 1 day is not that big of a deal, usually.

X4 especially with the routine I’m doing now. I just bounce back the next day.

I did this with oatmeal cookies once when the new Oliftng gym i was going to turned out to be 15year-olds only. no non-Olympic hopefuls. so i fat-girled out on 6 omega 3 oatmeal cookies. ones with rasins.

I cut my wrists and write shitty poetry.

I just move it to the next day.

I don’t have a lot of time and am very regimened. I’ll usually just squeeze in some kind of work that evening, strengthbuilding calisthetics, and then wait tillt he next workout day and throw in a little of whatever I missed. I don’t like to throw my weekly schedule off by going at it the next day.

I get on one knee and beg Apollo/Bill Roberts for forgiveness. Offer in tribute: two beef roasts of the highest quality, a basket of the finest fruits I can afford, and a 5lb tub of Gold Standard.

I then flog myself as proof of my repentance. lol With my current schedule, its bound to happen. I figure I’ve got 7 24 hour days at my disposal per week so I move it over to the next day. Whether it be AM or PM it will get done.

depends what i missed the workout for

if something came up, ill do it tomorrow or whenever the next available day is.

if a bodypart is injured i will just wait until it is able to train again

if the bodypart is too sore i may swap days so if im doing legs today and arms tomorrow i might do arms today and legs tomorrow.

i used to be a lot more concerned when i first started but after a few months it was like, who gives a shit, its about years not days so wow i miss one day, its not going to even be noticeable.

Agree with this as well. Gotta look at the big picture and in the beggining I did not, but as much as I like to stay consitent, life gets in the way of training at times, and you just move on. We’re talking a day, not weeks and months of missed sessions.

exactly. while its a lifestyle, it shouldnt be an obsession. although i feel when you first get into anything youre going to be obsessive for a short period of time as everything is new and exciting.

but the thing is, theres a world outside of the gym and you need to realize that and understand that you can still do other things, like drinking alcohol or missing a workout out for something else because you can go to the gym any day but you arent always going to have another opportunity for certain things in live.
