When Have You Used Strength in Real Life?

Alive or dead.
Honestly…Both. Hatian/cuban ops. Sometimes we came across floaters. But if they were in the water to long your in no rush to grab a floating bloated 170lbs of silly puddy.
Always amazed me the difference in the weight of a dead body compared to an alive person. Besides people with major burns, floaters are the second worst smelling dead people.
if

If floaters are the second worst I pray I never smell the first.

They are barely worse than GI bleeds, mix of blood and feces is a horrible smell.

However major burns are very destinct, cooked people are not aromatic.

I moved a 3 ft tall UPS(battery back up) about 2 feet, there was no room to get a dolly under it and it was to heavy to slide, not sure how much it weighed but I’m pretty sure it’s still a 1RM for me.

Most impressive thing I’ve seen is in a grocery store parking lot an old lady dropped her ice cream under her car and couldn’t reach it so she lifted the car with one hand and was able to secure her frosty treat with the other. True story.

I once tipped a VW bus over by myself on a dare…is that strong?

When I took gross anatomy one of the groups was kind enough to accidentally puncture the bowel on their cadaver. That was the worst thing I’ve ever smelled, without exception.

I was angry so I kicked this…

I was at Ikea with my wife once. We were in the warehouse part looking for a kitchen table. On the opposite aisle there was a forklift putting crates into the upper level shelving, when suddenly the crates on my side were pushed too far and came crashing down on me. I heard them moving but by the time I looked up they were already on their way down on top of me. It felt like slow motion and I fully expected to be maimed. All I remember is supporting myself by putting my hands on my knees and bending forward when they hit me. Luckily my wife was a few yards away and didn’t get hit, but saw it all. I stood up pushing them off of me (4 large crates had fallen) and looked at the shocked forklift operator as he came running down the aisle to see the damage. Miraculously I didn’t even suffer a scratch, and he seemed incredulous as well as relieved.

It really had nothing to do with strength. Just a fluke I wasn’t hurt. I think.

do you have a photo?

Used to work in a slaughterhouse, lifted/drug a lot of carcasses. Fat ends of trees of trees and stuff like Double Deuce mentioned.

I’ll tell you what sucks about being the “guy who works out”, here awhile back I was volunteered to help move a piano. Three other guys, I figure one of us on each corner, no worries. Nope. Those three assholes all got on one end and left the other to me, PLUS I was the one walking backwards. What a rip off.

I fixed that for you. Wait… maybe that was me.

Either way, the sponge I used was pretty heavy when wet.

I haven’t slept in a long time.

lol

so you feel like sometimes people take advantage of you? and you wonder who your friends really are?

Oh I occasionally have to move around and hook up 175 pound clevises. That is a freaking chore.

what the hell.

I pushed a small car up a hill and then turned it around to jump start it.

I expected a blood vessel in my head to pop any second but the group of kindergarden kids walking by were in awe.

I have my battery checked regularly now.

3,890 Pounds (1,768 Kilograms) so, even though you didnt lift up, it’s over 500lbs and it’s funny.

I have witnesses. No photos though.

I’ve pulled a 17 ton bus together with 4 of my buddies (rope, no harness). So that’s OVERR 9000!!1! (9,520lbs) per person.

Not me personally but one of my favorite stories is of a russian wrestler named Aleksandr Karelin. He was unbeaten for around 11 years, when asked who his biggest challenge was, he answered when I was 18 I carried a full size fridge up 8 flights of stairs.

Here is a link from 2000 olympics

Ironically, that is the Olympics he got beat in.

Yes it was, to Rulon Gardner. But he was at the end of his career.
