It can get a lot worse
Yeah, that’s the problem. There is a ceiling, but seemingly no floor to stop us from sinking. Of course we need to return to work, it’s just dangerous.
Everything is dangerous. Staying home is dangerous too. There is only so much you can do, eventually you have to move on with life.

You mean like curves that can’t be flattened?

Totally agree with this - lockdown has a terrible impact on mental health, and for people like me the consequences are literally worse than getting the virus.
Holy shit this is classic. Whole article is gold but didn’t want to copy/paste the whole thing. Stop fucking demons in your dreams and your dick will work.
In sermons posted on YouTube and articles on her website, Immanuel claims that medical issues like endometriosis, cysts, infertility, and impotence are caused by sex with “spirit husbands” and “spirit wives”—a phenomenon Immanuel describes essentially as witches and demons having sex with people in a dreamworld.
“They are responsible for serious gynecological problems,” Immanuel said. “We call them all kinds of names—endometriosis, we call them molar pregnancies, we call them fibroids, we call them cysts, but most of them are evil deposits from the spirit husband,” Immanuel said of the medical issues in a 2013 sermon. “They are responsible for miscarriages, impotence—men that can’t get it up.”
She allegedly obtained a degree in Nigeria and somehow managed to register herself as a physician in Texas?
Holy crap, this reads exactly like the stuff I’ve seen while working in Tanzania. Copulation with demons is a frequent theme used to justify extramarital and gay intercourse, not to mention the bad stuff.
“Honey, I’m not gay, an one demon raped me in my sleep, that’s why my butt hurts so much”
As a Christian, I have no idea what she’s talking about. Uhh. Sorry, felt the need to excuse ourselves from her mess. She isn’t taking me down with her!
Loppar, I am very sorry to hear the news. I live here in now notorious Florida, but have gotten lucky so far not to have anyone close to me fall ill with this virus.
I don’t know what to say. There’s always been that “I do what I want” atomistic individualism. Add that to the chickenpox party type of attitude, and you got yourself a mess. “If I’m gonna get it, I’d rather get it sooner or later and get it over with. At least I’ll have them antibodies or whatever you call 'em!” Then there’s the outright conspiratorial strain that thinks masks will…hell, I don’t know, take your pick of nefarious schemes.
Prove that it doesn’t! ![]()
Honestly, many African Christians are simply bona fide animists under a tiny veneer of Christian observance.
In Tanzania I’ve had to bribe a Christian minister (fifty bucks cash) to stop casting black magic spells on my construction workers - they refused working until the matter has been settled.
Thanks for the well wishes, I’ve been all over Florida and it’s an amazing place - I’m aware Floridians come in all shapes and sizes ![]()
What it doesn’t seem like many people talk about is the potential long term effects of surviving but having had the shit. I know that more stuff is out there but admittedly I haven’t dug into it a bunch. Just stumbled across this on a Facebook post. I’ve always thought that we should be looking into not just the death rate with this at the same time knowing a lot of the long term stuff we aren’t going to know. But it seems to me like a lot of people think if you don’t die you’re just going to bounce right back like you would any old bug.
Yeah. You just can’t fucking tell people these things. They don’t listen.
“It’s just like a cold or flu or something…”.
Ok fuck heads. Go on with your bad selves.
That ones not on you man. I’m sure the Trump defenders will say he didn’t know that information, didn’t listen to a video, or do any type of research on his own.
But maybe she’s right and I’m just saying that because I’m Dream fucking demons.
Well, he is handsome!
What prompted me to start this thread was complete confusion and disbelief as to the deniers explanation as to what exactly is going on if it is all fake and manufactured.
-
As hospitalizations and deaths go up, how is it that the deniers are only getting more vocal and bold? Am I to believe that it is all fake deaths from a fake disease?
-
The Country is now experiencing some of the highest temperatures on record, and this is all still just a “bad flu”?
-
Who specifically are the individuals with enough power; and how and why did they create such an elaborate scheme of deception? (I suppose that is written, or will be written in a book somewhere…).
-
The bigger question is how and why would these individuals create a scheme that would ultimately hurt themselves? Power? To bring down an individual (Trump) who ultimately will self-destruct without much input from anyone?
I simply have more questions than answers as to “what” exactly is going on and why (other than it being a highly contagious form of a virus that is having devastating consequences).
History is replete with charlatans ready and waiting to provide “answers” to those things that perplex us or cause us fear and anxiety. I get that. I just which it wasn’t happening now.
We need a united and concerted effort to fight this thing…and that simply is not happening.
*sigh
There was a group of these “prominent physicians” who appeared in public yesterday, spouting off how fake everything is and that there IS A CURE! (This woman appeared to be the prime spokesperson; and Trump praised her in public also…damn…).
I am comfortable in the knowledge that the World will never be rid of snake-oil salesmen and charlatans (billions are still made Word-wide with cancer “cures”…and it seems that each year the market is expanding).
One obvious thing to me is that Insurance Companies and Medicare could be literally saving billions in Intensive care cost by following these individuals simple “cures”. (While Medicare may be too “Deep State”…certainly the Insurance Companies would jump at the chance to save billions?).
Better still…why haven’t these individuals set up there own “COVID-cure” facilities?
There are billions to be made off the vulnerable.
In 1959 a famous Soviet photographer flew back to Moscow from New Delhi infected with smallpox. At the airport, he had lunch with a friend who was waiting for a flight to Riga before going home and coming down with the symptoms.
This triggered the largest peacetime mobilization of the KGB. They burned all of the journalist’s belongings and property, and tracked down and isolated everyone who was on both Moscow and Riga airports that day, including all of their contacts from that day onwards. Tens of thousands of KGB interrogators were grilling people about unrecorded contacts, namely their illicit affairs while 10 000 mobile medical teams vaccinated more than 9 million Moscow and Riga residents. Three weeks later, the outbreak was quashed with less than 5 dead.
In 1972, a similar situation occurred in Yugoslavia when a returning pilgrim from Mecca brought smallpox to Kosovo. Again, martial law was declared, the army mobilized and almost 20 million people were vaccinated in a matter of days. Less than 40 people died.
What’s interesting is that movies were made about both of these outbreaks - “Evil came to my city” (USSR) and “Variola Vera” (Yugoslavia). In both movies they’ve added a fictional villain besides the disease itself - an American journalist or a bourgeoise Western liberal who refuse to quarantine and throw tantrums yelling something along the lines “I refuse to sacrifice my personal freedom and live under the tyranny of doctors”, while the main plot revolves around a race against time to find and stop them before they infect others.
At the time, these Western characters seemed ludicrous, a product of heavy-handed propaganda.
Like any good conspiracy theory - evidence contrary to the theory’s hypothesis only serves to strengthen said hypothesis (it’s the same with flat-earthers, anti-vaxxers, the lot…). It’s the difference between real science and conspiracy. Real science changes it’s position in light of new evidence, conspiracies dig their own hole deeper.
I think that’s part of the problem though. The folks who believe it is fake (my step-sons grandparents from his dad’s new wife for one…also they are anti-vaxxers) can’t understand that the scientific community’s knowledge of this virus is a dynamic situation as more/differing evidence comes to light. Conspiracy theorists are all internet trained, subject matter experts on everything.
Without typing a lot my answer would be some people are fucking idiots. Alex Jones is a millionaire with a website which has speculated Obama created Superstorm Sandy to beat Mitt Romney and Sandy Hook might have been child actors.
The actual President of the United States who had millions of people vote for him has touted pseudoscience and conspiracy theories consistently throughout his presidency. He’s also cast doubt on his own team and some of the smartest people on this stuff in the world. The President and his son supported a video of a “doctor” who believes the government is ran by aliens and that we dream fuck demons. That’s how stupid the actual highest elected official is.
Armed with this knowledge you have the answers to your questions. People are idiots. And we have a lot of people who won’t “believe” in Covid unless it puts them in the hospital or kills a loved one. So bizarre I’ve never had heart disease but I certainly believe it’s real.
