when a crack head/hobo stops before asking you for spare change and says “your a big bastard aint ya” true story
Ahah. thats funny. I had a bouncer at a club tell me that he couldn’t let me in because he wouldn’t be able to stop me if I started trouble. I talked him into it though.
I had a guy walk up to me and offer me a job as a bouncer.
I got offered a job as a bouncer back when I was 150lbs. I umm, didn’t take it. laugh

When that happened I was right at 300 and the bouncer was probably 150.

I held a door open for an old man once. My hair was a bit long and he smiled and said, “Thank you, little girl!” I was only nine at the time, but damnit, the pain stuck…
So the question for me is when does a fat guy become known as built?
Same answer as before: when people stop asking if you lift and just take it as a given. Or if you go to China and everyone wants to grab your arms. Those people are funny.

Lol!
I do partially agree, but most dudes on the getting huge path never actually believe they are big enough.

Yeah, but that’s what keeps them making progress, and that’s good. There’s always something else to improve. The minute you start thinking, ‘hey, I look pretty big’ on a regular basis you’re stuck.
For my money it’s a visual thing (mostly). Stan McQuay looks big, but he’s under 200 a lot of the time. His frame just fits it.
Hate to say this in public, but a very select few look big at 160. Like .0001%. It’s just the frame of the body that gives the visual impression. Lots of giants out there that look smallish/mediocre at 260.

Stan McQuay is 5’7, and he is only under 200 when he is also at a VERY low bf% when he is under 200, I imagine he is alot heavier in the off season probaly around 220+

I’m at 258 right now, and when I look in the mirror I see mediocrity (its just how I’m programmed). I had a roommate that looked smaller than me when he was at 275 (he was 6’6").
Its all relative though, If I stand next to a 180 pound kid, I look huge. If I were standing next to the Juggernaut I’d feel like a 12 year old girl. Point being that not only is it how you see yourself, but also what your comparing yourself to.

Agreed. Also, how many bodybuilders (unless freakishly tall) look “smallish” at 260lbs?
Competing at a certain weight means you are usually much heavier. You would think most people would know this by now…on this site.

Isn’t it something like 10 lbs. for every inch taller, so he would have to be like 325 to look as big as you? or is that just a myth?
Personally I think I need about another 15lbs of muscle on me, bringing me up to about 206lbs at 6". I’ve been there before, but it takes a lot of eating. Beyond that I’ll most likely be compromising rock climbing performance.
Shit, I’m probably already too big for rock climbing.
So you’re like 190? Thats like what Gary Y. weighs & he climbs way harder than me. I saw you post on his blog but didn’t know you climb. Good stuff; its rare to find climbers who actually like to lift heavy.

A myth? Someone 5’5" at 200lbs is pretty big. Someone 6’6" at 200lbs is thin as a rail. Relatively speaking, about 10lbs is added for every inch in height when relating the size of two different people.
