What's your Free-Testosterone?

18 ng/dL

If you still have symtoms you can definitely increase quite a bit.

SHIT! That’s MUCH lower than what you are at and feeling optimized. Less than HALF in fact! I would like to get there but how to work around the damn HCT and HGB breaking normal high? Docs stop you cold in Canada.

I’m in Montreal… Pretty close to you.

You need a doc who understands hematocrit and hemoglobin… As well as erythrocytosis on TRT. Nine of the docs I deal with get their patients to donate blood.

By the way guys… Awesome site for converting units

Make sure you set the before and after units first before entering your values.

Does your knowledge run any deeper than ‘ get your free t 40+’ ?

Too much free t (relevant to total t) = too much dht (relevant to e2)= low e2 symtons. Too low free t = too much e2 (relevant to dht) = high e2 symptons.

@GSX250 I guess you’re illiterate. On virtually every thread I state, quite clearly:

Take the minimum amount required to resolve symtoms.

I also say: Most guys I deal with get symptom resolution once they get their free T over 30. Your number may be higher or lower.

What part of this do you not understand?

Bullshit. Complete, absolute bullshit.

Join my FB and make a post about the nonsense you spew here and ask the docs themselves.

You are a bro science clown.

If the body doesnt struggle to balance hormones on injections (according to you) then why do we need to shoot for sky high free t levels on injections (according to you)? If the body didnt struggle to balance on injections we could simply shoot for normal physiological levels right?

We don’t shoot for sky high anything
.
AGAIN:

Take the minimum amount required to resolve symptoms. WHATEVER that amount might be.

Some need more and some need less. Take the MINIMUM AMOUNT REQUIRED TO RESOLVE SYMPTOMS.

Tell me again that I’m telling anyone to “shoot for sky high free T”

What do diabetics do? They take the amount of insulin they need to keep blood sugar levels in check. Some need more and some need less. They take the minimum amount required, whatever amount that is.

Can I possibly make this any more clear for you?

The question is what is meant by symptom resolution? Is is to become ‚normal‘ for your age so that age 60 you have enough energy to go hiking for a full day or play with your grandchildren for hours or is it to feel like in your 20s again with regards to strength, energy, libido so that you can bang your wife 10 times per week and work out in the gym 6 times per week for hours.

If symptom relief is to feel 20 again than achieving this might just not be the best measure for long term safety.

However, if this is an educated decision acknowledging a potential(!) safety concern than that’s perfectly fine.

I liked what @derrickb recently wrote in another thread. Intelligent man:

‚I’d rather be healthy, strong, and vital and until I keel over at 70 than live to 85 but spend the last 25 years feeling older, weaker, and tireder and not having as much interest (or ability) in sex. It’s a matter of understanding, acknowledging, and weighing the risks and making an informed decision.‘

That’s why new trt ppl should start between 80-100 a week. Not 200!

Same is done with thyroid hormone meds. Start low.

I can count on one hand how many people I know who are symptom free at 80-100. It’s a terrible approach as probably close to 98% of men will not experience symptom resolution at that dose. I’ve revised my best starting dose to being 150mg a week though some docs I know still start at 200mg.

The equation is, where do the MAJORITY feel their best on average being X. X is now your ideal starting dose.

There is a fine line between symptom resolution and going overboard.

Can you have sex, maintain an erections, and have good sex drive? Yes? That’s a symptom you don’t need to be concerned with anymore. Want to up your dose to see if you can bang your wife 3 times a day? That’s not TRT anymore.

Some guys are fine with symptom resolution and true TRT. Others want to push the envelope further and be optimized. Optimization itself can be then pushed past the limits. Depends where you want to draw the line and what you feel is acceptable.

I meannnnn I’d be ok losing a few years at the end for that

How do you keep your free T so high ?
Only test?
Or something else to keep SHBG down ?

Only test. I don’t need to take anything else. I raised my dose until I had zero symptoms. Symptom free for ME was a free T of 30. Feeling great for ME was a free T of 40. My partner for the YouTube channel keeps his free T at 60 and has for years.

What dose per week do you need to do to have a free T of 40 ?

I’m on 200mg per week
And a little 50mg dose of anabolic to keep shbg down,
Feel great since starting will get labs at 6 weeks

250mg a week got my free T to 28. 350 is probably getting it closer to 40. Most guys I know need significantly less to get the same levels. 150-200 for them usually sufficient.

My free T is usually high teens. Last test was 17.4 pg/ml. I feel perfectly fine at that level and it’s within acceptable lab Corp ranges. My endo thinks my levels are perfect and I would agree. I take 140mg/wk.
