What's Wrong With Dream?

Dream is THE best fight organization period.

Maybe for light weights. The don’t seem too stacked in other divisions.

Who knows? So far we’ve seen MOSTLY lightweights because there was a lightweight tournament.

no organization is stacked in every division

not even ufc

lackluster middleweights, welterweights, and especially heavyweights. yes there is bj penn and anderson silva… but name someone in there respective division who has an even remote chance of beating either of them.

their heavyweight division is garbage right not after losing sylvia arlovski and of course couture. whos left… gonzaga? nog and werdum.

Name an organization with better welterweights than the UFC.

lackluster middleweights like Franklin, Okami, Henderson, Almeida, and Marquardt? It doesn’t get much easier below them either, Palarhes, Martin, Leben, McFedries, and Kampman? Just because Anderson Silva has been performing at an almost god-like level, does not discount the fact that the UFC has a bunch of quality middleweights.

I don’t think they are lackluster in any division.

Lightweight
BJ
Sherk
Edgar
Florian
Huerta
Griffin
Guida
Fisher
Diaz

Welter weight
GSP
Alves
Davis
Fitch
Hughs
Lytle
Parisyan
Sanchez
Serra

Middleweight
Silva
Henderson
Marquardt
Leiben
Lutter
Mc Fedries
Okami
Quarry

Light Heavey
Silva
Liddell
Griffen
Jackson
Franklin
Jardine
Machida
Rua
Evans

Heavy - weakest
Nog
Mir
Werdum
Lesnar
Herring
Kongo
Velasquez

Heavyweight is definately the weakest but is still strong compared to any other organizations. Who is better? Who is better in any weight class?

Organizations that are only stacked in one division will have a hard time drawing huge viewerships. Dream was awesome for the lightweight tourney. I think this is mostly because it was so competitive. I think the UFC still has just as deep of lightweight division.

I thought Franklin was going to move to LH?

Does anyone know if this HDNET is available through comcast?

EDIT: I looked on hdnet …comcast has not made this available yet…pricks.

Geez, didn’t mean to just start this thread and vanish, but I didn’t think anyone had commented on it. Actually, I am glad I didn’t notice because I didn’t get to watch Dream 5 for a while after it was aired.

So it appears I was wrong, there are some Dream fans. I’m one of them. I like the setup, I like the rules, the presentation, and that I get to see Mach Sakurai fight now and again.

And I think it was Doughnut who mentioned the Kawajiri fight. You were very right. Though I would have loved to see Kawajiri vs Aoki. Not that the final disappointed mind you…

Well I think Affliction probably has the more exciting HW division, and has the HWs to make the best match-ups.

The UFC owns WW. Pride completely ignored that weight division so naturally all fighters who wanted to be the best in that division had only one destination, the UFC. They also own LHW.

Dream has a sold MW division I think.

Dream has a great LW division and since they don’t do exclusive contracts they have the possibilty of bringing guys from other orgs for fights. There are guys like Josh Thompson, Melendez, Horodecki not in the UFC. I don’t know what will happen to Sengoku but I would like to see Gomi in the mix.

So the UFC dominate 2 weight classes.

Lightweight
BJ
Sherk
Edgar
Florian
Huerta
Griffin
Guida
Fisher
Diaz

bj and tyson… besides that, everyone else are just fill ins.
just so i dont get flamed too much, let me add that guida and huertas fight is def in my top 3 ufc bouts. but we havent seen anything since then. ill wait until they fight again. frankie, lots of potential but… ehhh. diaz is not with ufc anymore…

Welter weight
GSP
Alves
Davis
Fitch
Hughs
Lytle
Parisyan
Sanchez
Serra

serra is done
hughes is done
lytle is disgustingly overrated
parisyan, hes good, but not good enough to be top 3 u kno what i mean?
fitch and gsp. we’ll see who gets this one. should be FIIIYAHHHH.
If diego went to another org, he’d be a bigger star, for sure.

Middleweight
Silva
Henderson
Marquardt
Leiben
Lutter
Mc Fedries
Okami
Quarry

lutter is done man. nathan is just a good fighter, not great.
silva okami and hendo. again, only two contenders for the title… which we all know is not gonna change for awhile.

Light Heavey
Silva
Liddell
Griffen
Jackson
Franklin
Jardine
Machida
Rua
Evans

most stacked division in the fuckin world. you cant dispute that.

Heavy - weakest
Nog
Mir
Werdum
Lesnar
Herring
Kongo
Velasquez

although this division isnt great, i see tons of potential.
lesnarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Hard to say since most or all of their fighters are with other organizations. This is going to be hard to sort with likes of Dream and Affliction. I love the non-exclusivity and think that this is really the great equalizer for the UFC.

Probably won’t hurt that they paid Silvia $800k. That is insane and should draw fighters out of the UFC to persue free agent status. I think you are going to start seeing superagents picking up the MMA guys. Then we are going to see things explode. I hope the organizations and fan base can keep up.
