That is a great way to De-load…LOL
Seriously I sometimes go up to a max on my de-load week as well without all the volume and feel great.
Have a happy and safe 4th!

Jack - Thanks man…fucking finally, meets in a few month Im determined to make up for the last one.
Nova - He already found out lol! He wasnt that pissed but he basically in no uncertain terms do it again, it will limit gains…FUCK dude I feel bad about it now.
Rick - LOL, thanks bro, it meant alot to finally get a good rep up at that weight. That is exactly how I felt I knew the volume would be minimal and my buddy was enticing me to do it and up it went!
Happy 4th all!
He won’t get pissed about it, but there is one guy who posts over on Adam’s forum that NEVER followed the program during deload weeks and some regular training days. Then the guy wondered why he wasn’t getting stronger, lol.
Big milestone to cross off.
nice work
happy fourth
One of the many things I’ve learned from Adam is I was “testing my strength” way too often vs building it. That said, I have to keep the meat head in me focused on putting in the work with lighter loads.
In regards to deloads, I’ve found that if I really push conditioning on off days the deload weights feel better. I’ll do some sick body weight and sprinting work. trust me, the next day your more than happy to be using sub loads.
Keep at it Matty!
Your absolutley right dude. There is a big difference between testing 1RM and training it. Because now for the most part I train alone again I will be able to keep the inner meathead at bay lol!
I agree with the “testing vs. training” distinction, but sometimes you just gotta find out. 405 is a big milestone and there is great psychological value knowing you can hit it. I would’t make a habit out of testing all the time, but Jesus, sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. Great work.
Congrats on the 4 wheel squat man. That’s a long time goal of mine so I am suitably envious.
Nice work.

x2, Im a firm believer and (even though I do it far more often than I should) that if your having one of those “I feel great days” then go for it, those true days dont come around too often so you might as well take advantage. The mental aspect is a great point, now Im thinking I might have gotten more than 405 up, and hopefully at the next meet I will.

Thanks alot bro! Hopefully you can get it soon as well!
Good Job Matty!
Thanks Colin!
Deload week over…since the volume and intensity was very low, I combined days 3 and 4, Adam says it was OK to do that lol.
Weekend will be spent getting my tan on and will hit it again for week 5 on Monday

Solid benching Matty.
I did 5 singles dead pressing this week with 235-easy but I have a feeling when Adam ups the weight into the 260 range I’m going to have shoulder issues as well. Was the 315 Dead press part of the program or did you add it in?
pause squats look good
pressing too

Yeah dude my shoulder sounded like Rice Crispies while doing them, I can see there value espescially with getting power off the chest, but the bar always seems to slide and my shoulder is put at its ROM limit somewhat, with the weight being pressed at the shoulder with no room to give its a movement that I may have to avoid.
Hires seems amenable to to movements that dont agree with the lifter, for example I told him that Chest supported rows for some reason killed my bicep, so I asked if I could do regular DB rows instead which he was cool with. I really like the variety and the way he targets weak points, Im already getting stronger, his training definitley has a West Sidey feel to it, with DLs of course.
Now the 315 yeah well, it wasnt part of his program lol, I just wanted to do it, but for me its good only veered off of his program twice in 5 weeks lol!

Thanks brochacho!
Like you said Matty, if you tell Adam a body part doesn’t react too kindly to a particular lift, he will sub in something else. He clearly wants to make you stronger AND stay injury free. I’ve worked with others who were less considerate and I ended up not enjoying training.
Exactly, he is pretty easy to communicate with, I have learned …ehem I mean I am learning not to fight through certain exercises.
