What's up with it Vanilla Face?

Alexus - For squatting the static stretches I do are squat position for about 15 secs (as if Im in the hole), kneeling hip flexor stretch, I also use bands for these and rock back for more extension, Lunge position stretch against the wall and some hamstring stuff as well, everything else is active type stretching like Hydrants and jump squats

Colin - Thanks man, I try to follow the BBB template for OHP, my shoulders were on fire yesterday

Up - Up, I think your right if I take the time do what my body needs it to do to perform better Im in much better shape, my problem is rush and dont take the time to stretch effectively…static stretching works IMO.

James - thanks, I was hoping to get 10 on the squats as I want to get out of my comfort zone with the 5 rep range but I was gassed

man, i’d love to write STACK for the weight.

(this is where i ogle your arms and twirl my hair)

I love it when you do that

Big lifting homeboy, also liking the love from the ladies.

Just stopping in. Badass OHP, looks like that rack would be a pain in the ass to squat in though, need to take like 4 steps back.

Great work in here, a body weight Press is impressive.

Re: static stretching. I definitely think its personal and benefits some more than others. I personally don’t find static stretching helpful, although I did it for years because I was told to. Now I just like to get some blood and synovial fluid moving before I get going and maybe some mobility work. I’m just glad someone told me I could quit doing static stretches so I don’t feel so guilty about not doing it. I must say I have Steve Maxwell’s encyclopedia of joint mobility DVD and he’s got some great drills that actually do work for me.

Joe - Thanks bro! I love any love from Lula!

SCJ - Thanks Bud, no doubt thats why I dont squat in that rack I usually do it in the cage, muuuuch easier

jjack - Thanks for stopping by, and the kind words. Im going to check out Maxwells stuff thanks. I just find for me the overload of info ends up confusing me, and I end up questioning my methods too much.

Getting there…I swear I cant wait to face fuck that 500 DL…+5 PR today…small victories ladies and gents…this weightlifting stuff certainly doesn’t come easy for me, but sure as shit love it.

Nice Matty- You were good for 500 on that lift. I’m guessing you hit it before the end of the month.

Next stop… the 500 club

those static stretches sound good. i did some today, just for you. i think they help me, too, but i usually forget to do them…

thanks for this comment. i’ve been having a training personality crisis these days and needed this reminder of why we do what we do.

that pull looked ridiculously easy. 500 is there, nice work.

Thanks Homey, I have these crisis too, it is why we do what we do, not too sound corny but not too many people would view this as a passion or fun, we do its hard to explain but when you get close or reach a number the joy is fleeting because never satisfied is part of our lexicon…yeah a bit over the top but you know what I mean.

Thanks James and Bruce!

the 350 was a 10lb PR, a fucking grinder but I will take it.

Grats on the Bench PR. 350 is one of those milestone numbers.
