I’m a soccer player that is looking to gain lean muscle, get more cut, and show more definition. I’ve taken mass gainer in the past twice a day. Taking 2 scoops each time I take the gainer. I took it once in the morning and once after workouts. I also took creatine one hour prior to lifting.
Now I just started taking Pro-Nos twice a day taking one scoop each time I take it. Once in the morning and once after workouts. I still also take creatine one hour before lifting. What do u recamend the best supplements to take are? And when should I take them?
If you want to stay lean, work on your diet. If your diet isn’t in place, supplements won’t help. Do a search for Berardi and read all of his articles on nutrition.
If you’re trying to concurrently gain lean muscle and lose fat to show more definition you are gong to be working at cross purposes. It IS possible, especially if you’re new to weightlifting, but your progress will be slower than if you choose a specific goal and work on that. If you are concerned with looks and you have decent muscle mass, diet down to show what you have. If your concern is sport performance, eat hearty and bust your ass in the gym and on the field.
Supplements are not going to make or break you. Most here agree that NOS products are a mildy dangerous waste of money. Quality protein powder, multi-vitamin/mineral, fish-oil and creatine are your basics. If you have money try supps like Biotest’s Alpha Male, HOT-ROX, Carbolin 19, etc. They can help maintain and even build muscle while you lose fat. They’re not magic beans though, no supps can replace hard work, solid diet, low alcohol intake, etc. (Don’t you just hate it when the truth sucks?)
