What would you correct about my squat technique?

Hello, good day, I know that the correct way is to do it in a rack, but at the moment I don’t have money to go to the gym. Here is a video, thank you very much!

Props to you for finding a way to get swole.

A few obvious things - it’s tough to give accurate criticism based on the camera angle and the lack of being able to see the full squat from 45 degrees. It is difficult to tell if you are doing high bar or low bar, if you are hitting depth, if your knees are out, etc . . .

I’ll confess, I am a Rippetoe fan and hence a low bar fan so take my advice in context.

Get set before squatting - take a deep breath and hold, aka Valsalva maneuver.

Slow your descent a little - you are divebombing a bit. You clearly can squat more weight than you have in this video, but might not have more weight, or might not be able to clean and press more weight. Slowing down the squat will help you with time under tension and improve your gains.

You extend your neck in the hole - focus on a point six feet in front of you on the floor and maintain your gaze there.

Standard question - height, weight, goals.

Standard advice - start a training log here.

Cheers!

I can’t really see much in the vid either, but also huge props for finding a way to get it done - that attitude will take you far.

Why not just do front squats after you clean the weight?

I don’t have a rack myself, I do the same as you, clean and press OR steinborn style.

I do higher reps since we are limited for bigger legs and glutes and rib cage.

Here’s my vid, I’m better at these now, that’s an old vid-

Thank you very much! I would like to recover my marks before my illnesses developed… but if I train too hard I get headaches, diarrhea, insomnia, etc., etc., so I do what my health allows me, unfortunately.
I am short and underweight, luckily I am gaining weight, thanks for your criticism and good vibes.

Thank you very much! It’s more out of habit than anything else haha.
But then I’ll do front squats to try to focus more on my quads.
I also have a hard time with front squats because of discomfort in my clavicles.

Wow, you are very strong! Thanks for your contribution. I didn’t know about that type of squat, although I prefer not to risk bending over.

What a way to warm up haha.
I’ll watch it later more calmly, thanks for the contribution.
thanks !

Find a way, nice.

Gotta get tight and keep that back nuetral. No stripper ass to initiate the decent. I know its hard to get tight when you have to clean and press the weight into position, but when the weight gets heavier and your in a rack it will matter.

At the top make a checklist. Back tight, flex your ass and screw your feet into the ground, tight abs, deep breath into your core. Theres a million different cues. Find the ones that work for you to get tight and maintain it throught the movement.
