I workout with 100 dumbel alternate seated curls for 2 very strict reps and one cheat curl at the end.
Barbell curls anywhere from 135 to a 225 cheat. Going for my all time record 235 in about a month.

I do seated dumbell curls with the 80 lb. dumbells. Usually 5 or 6 reps per set.
sssssstttt i barbell curled 135 with decent form. Look out kids, squat rack here i come bwahahahahaha
ps
I rarely do them, only when the program permits it, atm ws4sb has me doing alt seated curls (i have grown a huge dislike for curls, id rather do chins and pulls) but im doing 30’s 3x10…35’s hopefully in 2 weeks b4 i switch it up…
Thanks to tendonitis probably around 45 pounds, 1 word: Shite!
There was a time when I could curl 80lbs + (dumbells),
strange thing is my arms look better now, even though Ive lost size on them.
My old training partner has the scariest arms Ive ever seen, he is around 5’7 with arms that indeed do measure in excess of 19 inches cold (he is not overfat either). He could curl 100Lb dumbells with decent form.
Elk,
My arm routine is a little unorthodox. It’s a variation of using DBs and Olys.
When I use the incline bench it’s alternating curls with dumbbells. It’s probably the most painful and rewarding arm routine I’ve ever used. And I’ve done them all…
I actually prefer the oly bar using the standing arm-curl bench. Really allows you to stack on the weight without swinging your body and cheating with your shoulders. It also hurts like a bitch…
Today I do back and bi’s. I’ll see if I can get some pics for ya. ![]()
OD
Funny thing, I avoided curls in favor of compound exercises for a long time, but guess what? My upper back strenght was really holding back what I could handle for squat (squats around 440-460 but bent row to chest max of 155 x 5). I realized that my arm flexors were holding back my upper back pulls. I did only a 90 pound 2 arm strict preacher curl and 60 pound strict reverse curl. I have brought both of those up (105 and 75) and my bent row went up 20 pounds for 5 and my squat also went up 20 pounds.
Sometimes you have to curl big(ger)if you want to squat big(ger).
Wanted to add-so I did 10 x 3 with 35 pound dumbells last week and also did 205 x 3 skullcrushers.
we’re not talkin about olympic curling on the ice are we? Isn’t the regulation weight like 65 lbs or so for that?

Just knowing that there is a regulation weight for Olympic Curling should get you an ass whoopin.
I’m currently doing bi’s on my max effort upper days, at the end of my workouts. Last time it was:
Standing Hammer Curls (little swing)
4x12 w/24kgs (30sec. rest circuited with tricep ext. 30sec. rest.) On this circuit, limiting factor is usually my stomach not my arms…
