57 years old
130mg Cyp per week split 2x a week
206lbs down from 216lbs 3 months ago (eating clean,stopped drinking)
5’10"
Working out 3-4 days a week with Bowflex Blaze rod based and Dumbells
Supplementing with Creatine & Citrulline combo once a day 5g & 6g each
Iso Protien Powder
Goals are to add muscle and lose fat(whose isnt)!
My question is how many calories should I be taking in to obtain these goals and when should I stop looking at the scale but feel confident I’m on the right path. Im someone who over thinks and over analyzes everything. I have no problems following a formula that is tried and true for obtaining my goals.
When I was in my mid 20’s to early 30’s I was using various enhancement items and could walk around at 225-230 looking very solid, didnt care what my body fat was or what I ate. At 57 I want to look better than most at my age, but want it to be done in a healthy manner. Should I look to put mass on then trim down, can I obtain both simultaneously? Whichever way it is what should my calorie intake be if the putting mass on then trim or trying to do both at the same time.

How many calories are you currently eating? How much is maintenance intake for you? A good place to start is Mifflin-St Jeor (spelling?) If you dont know this.
Reduce by 500 per day (from your actual maintenance, may be a bit off from above equation), and that’s your formula for 1lb/wk weight loss.
Prioritize protein and veggies to reduce hunger and don’t be afraid of a good fat profile and/or carbs.

this is a starting point. weigh yourself every morning after restroom. enter data into MFP. after one week we will decide what to do with calories based on the trend.

Thats for info, I found that site and will read. As far as current calorie intake and maintenance,I have to really look and figure it to give you a true #. One of the issues for me is I take Vyvanse , which is prescibed, in the morning and it’s an amphetamine and really has an effect on my want to eat. So having a calorie intake goal per day will make it easier so I just dont eat only when hungry. If I can figure out what that number is to be able to get some size wihout fattening up, I will make sure its done. Appreciate the thoughts.

Adderall here. It makes me not want to eat, until I’m STARVING, then i only want to eat tasty food. If this sounds like you, then I’d advise meal prepping your dinner or trying a food restriction diet method.
