What Results Have You Had with GVT?

hey guy, i have been doing full body training for a while, i am just doing a couple weeks doing a noraml split then i am goin too try german volume or dogg crap training!

what size results have you guys seen from gvt?

I never understand these questions.

Not to pick on you but how does another person’s results matter to you at all? It’s the same thing when people ask for people’s results from using creatine or other supplements or steroids.

If people answer your question what, exactly, are you going to do with the information?

Someone this clueless about training definitely shouldn’t be doing doggcrapp. lol

If you aren’t a troll, I suggest you stop being lazy and looking for the magical program/easy answer that is going to give you the body you dream about.

There is no way around the years of hard work and consistent eating. If you don’t have it in you then just accept that and find a new hobby that doesn’t require much effort or willpower… like playing the guitar…

lol i get you, am interested thats all on different programs and peoples views, and yeah of course different people get different gains on what not! but it doesnt harm posting stuff, if t doesnt interset you or you cant be arsed to comment dont comment =)

Read the threads referenced in the “Best of T-Nation” sticky.

cheers cephalc

I did GVT training last spring and early summer. I became fairly lean quickly and was a challange every workout to get all the reps and sets in but it did nothing for actually increasing muscle mass. I don’t think I could eat enough to match the calories burned.

I understand it to the extent that you wanna do what guys bigger have done, what is proven to work, as long as you understand that you’ll have to make adjustments to make it work for you.
To the OP most programs actually worth doing are meant for experienced lifters(especially DC) or for a short term plateau breakthrough. I would suggest reading the “best of T-Nation” sticky as cephalic carnage suggested. After that try to come up with a split you like and post it here for more experienced guys to critique.

If an individual can’t muster the self-discipline to keep grammar and spelling above a certain standard (doesn’t have to be perfect, just legible), I begin to wonder if they can apply themselves enough in the weightroom to see results. Just an observation.

While I know where you were going with this post, it seems reasonable to me to ask about other people’s experiences. We ask how the big guys got big, don’t we?

It seems reasonable to believe the if 90% of the posters responding said they had good results from GVT then it’s probably worth giving a shot. Just like if 90% of posters say upright barbell rows give their shoulders problems, it’s probably a safe bet that they aren’t the safest exercise.

Things work differently for different people, but following the law of averages is probably a pretty good way to go about asking questions.

lankymofo you know where im coming from =)

I did GVT and so did my buddy. I gained 1 lb LMB. He gained about 12 lbs LBM. I did the program under the supervision of a very well known coach so execution was excellent. How do we account for the difference in our results? Answer: Fibre type make up. He is predominantly slow twitch. I am VERY fast twitch (which, contrary to popular belief, can make size gains very hard).

Of course, training history, diet etc can play a role too but not an issue in our particular case.

By contrast, when we did an 8 sets of 3 program I progressed more in each session than he could in 4 weeks.

Now, I do not believe that the fibre type make up theory is the be all and end all - the point I’m making is that different programs will work for different people and at different times in their training careers. I suspect, for example, that my GVT results would have been more pronounced if I had gained a lot more strength in the months prior to doing GVT and was able to do 10x10 with heavier weights.

Bottom line: give it a try and see how you go.

cheers for that will of iron
