What is the True Religion?
Sweet Revenge wrote:<<< I think God is A LOT bigger than that.
Here’s the trouble. He doesn’t care what you think. Ya know bein God n all. To be clear, He doesn’t care what I think either. I do however care what He thinks, which is how I know He doesn’t care what we think. HE tells US what to think and we either think it or die. Couldn’t be simpler, though that’s not very groovy so you don’t like that.

Every religion thinks that they are the true religion. To each their own, I suppose. As a Christian, of course I can’t help but feel a little bad for those who don’t share the same belief in God/Jesus as I do, but I’m not going to go out of my way and shove my beliefs down their throat. If they’re willing, then I’ll feed them little by little. Religion isn’t something you can just spring on somebody all at once.

If he created it, I would suppose so.
Or not.

You could also say, if he wanted us to worship him and only him, he’d make it obvious to all humans. Not a very specific slice of the population.
It IS obvious to all humans. That’s what my epistemology thread is all about Raj.

But I’m a human and it isn’t obvious to me

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (1Ti 2:5 KJV)

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, (2Co 5:19)

Basic logic. He wouldn’t leave it to another. He would do it Himself.

This site has some pretty good data on it.

It gives some good detailed breakdowns of different faiths in the US.

That would be your view.

Once again we all seem to be forgetting about that forest that lies beyond the damn trees…

If there is a God I hope he is Eru Illuvatar and that he`s “angles” are the mighty ainurs.

What would you say is the most widely printed and best selling book of all time?

This, I believe with an expanded view on the name ‘Jesus Christ’. ‘Jesus’ was a man. ‘Christ’ means messiah, annointed, enlightened. I believe the One God has sent others, and continues to live and act throughout mankind, His Creation. In addition to Jesus, God has acted through Buddha, Mohammed, John Smith, etc. I see them as enlightened (Christly) brothers in the One God, One Spirit Soup that ALL of mankind is part of.

Religious arguements are mostly about semantics. Different vernacular for different people. Again, ASK that the Will of God concerning religion be done in your life, and relax. If He cares, He’ll put you where He wants you.

Rasputin? L. Ron Hubbard? Rael? Is there anyone He hasn’t sent?

We are all part of the One-God-One-Spirit-Soup. Some are spiritual superstars (Jesus) and some are science fiction writers (L. Ron Hubbard).

Re-read the last 4 words of what you quoted.

What is the most widely printed book in…

 1. Saudi Arabia
 2. India
 3. Pakistan
 4. Israel

Since we clearly aren’t going to answer this question anyway.

Looks like Jesus doesn’t agree with you:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (Joh 14:6)

No semantics here.
Sweet Revenge wrote:

Seems some are part of a poisonous soup:

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (Joh 8:44 KJV)

Zen Buddhism is all about figuring out the truth on your own.

Religion is for people who can’t live without being told what to do.

Sounds like the soup’s heavy on the Kool Aid. Count me out. And just between you and me, I always thought Mo was a few sheep short in the top paddock if you know what I mean.
