What is the True Religion?

Seriously, I want to know.

If God does exist who will he favor the most?

What if the true religions hasn’t been invented yet?

Do you think an all-powerful god would really be jealous and smite you if you accidentally were born into the wrong one?

These questions burn in my mind and feel like there is a gap in my understanding that needs to be satisfied.

Discuss.

Come on Lifty. I love ya man, but this is everywhere already.

I would think the Wiccan has to be one of the first

You have the internet. Research, make a decision.

Apparently True Religion jeans are the bomb. But I’m a Levi’s man myself.

It’s the one you will never know or experience.

Of course if an all powerful being wrote a book it would follow there would only be one book and be dominant everywhere in the world. There would be no predecessors, or parallels or alternatives in any other language because mere human authors wouldn’t able to compete with it. You wouldn’t need faith to believe it because all evidence would point to it and it would be demonstrably true. It would contain profound morality and wisdom far beyond human contemporary capacity. It should inspire unity with every reader - if god wrote it, we should expect no less.

Unfortunately we have the very opposite of that.

Now narrow it down to official sites and/or scholarly references. A little something I picked up in school.

Animism.
Because it’s the first one.
in our collective history AND in our personal history.

Or we could use another thread for the same arguments that are going on in 4-5 other threads at the moment. Mark my words.

Lolz.

That would make too much sense. How dare you.

Do you really think the Creator of the Universe cares what religion you are? I think God is A LOT bigger than that. Only men think its important to be part of a particular religion (tribe) – perhaps they are just seeking validation. That’s fine.

If you do think God really does care about what religion you are, why don’t you just ask Him and/or surrender to His will about the matter? That way, you’ll end up where He wants you. Done.

That is the only way I can believe in God , he has to be so much bigger than Religion’s imagination

If he created it, I would suppose so.

I’m not sure what about I wrote is funny to you. We should believe in things unless we have justifications for them. What other aspect of your life would you take such an enormous leap of faith?

You could also say, if he wanted us to worship him and only him, he’d make it obvious to all humans. Not a very specific slice of the population.
