I check the site from time to time and notice that almost all of the regulars that I used to converse with are gone. Granted, this is years ago. Not only that, but it seems like each forum has very few new posts. In the body building forum there’s only ONE thread that’s been active in the past two days. Before that, everything is 10 days ago. How the site’s activity slowed to basically a halt? Did posters move onto another site or did everyone just sort of stop posting over time?

You have missed a lot. The Bodybuilding forum is now basically for actual competitive bodybuilders, and there just aren’t a ton of competitors here (yet, or for now, or whatever). Bigger, Stronger, Leaner is the primary lifting forum and that’s plenty active. Powerlifting, Over-35, and Beginners, are also trucking along at a steady pace. Off-Topic and PWI are popular as ever. Thibaudeau and Wendler’s forum are busy.
Basically, the forum’s are just fine, you’re just out of touch with the changes. (But welcome back. Those T-Park videos are truly classic.)
Looks like you had a half-dozen posts in 2012, one post in 2013, and now this thread. I’m gonna guess there are some people for whom participating in an online discussion forum has taken a similarly low priority in their lives for various reasons.

Thanks for the update. Guys like Professor X, Rockscar, RRJC, Bauer, Ragoo, Vroom, forest, etc.
Man, I forgot about those videos. That was back when monitors weren’t wide screen! Nearly a decade ago.

And some of us are like herpes, we pop up from time to time.
All the good people left… but a few stayed keeping the flame aglow.

You’re welcome
I think it MIGHT be because some of the frequent posters were on here at a point in their life in which they had a lot of spare time considering their ages back then, late teens and early 20’s. I have a few on my list on FB and it seems they are much busier now (graduated school, found a woman, married, had kids, jobs, stuff like that).
Some of us have also gotten a bit more boring perhaps (matured, that is, lol) and thereby might not have much interesting content to post.
At this point T-mag is one of the only two forums I like because of the level-headed and mature people here. Some of the others are filled with just… uh… I don’t even know how to describe them.

I disagree here. Especially with Off Topic, I’d guess the traffic here is a small percentage of what it used to be.[/quote]
And there’s one of the vets. Hey, push.
I’ve wondered the same thing, but also did the same. Kid, work, spouse, etc. Life gets bigger but the hours in a day stay the same.
There aren’t as many fights around here to keep posts up.
GAL is mostly movies, booze and guys wondering if a girl likes them. Fuck we haven’t even had a pants not fitting question in a year or more.
A lot less drama since a large dentist left, along with a few other characters.

Challenge accepted
I rarely post anymore, but like to lurk in a conversation from time to time.
Since you can no longer go right to the end of a thread to see the latest posts, I find myself checking in less and less. Its just a pain in the ass and the pay-off is hardly ever worth it.

When I joined this site the GAL section was filled was new posts to the point where they only stayed on the first page for a few days.

Not sure about the busy factor – I’m busier than I was when I posted here often: wife, 3 month old, job, etc – that’s not what keeps me away.
I was always on T-Nation to learn about training. But I’ve been at this for 10 years. I know what works for me and I don’t really feel a desire to do much more that skim a few articles here now and again. Especially true with the newer content that’s more buzzfeed-esque (I miss the Atomic Dog column).
If I visit T-Nation, it’s mostly just to get to the store and get out. Which, I suppose, was the goal of the forum in the first place.
There can only be so much said about training without information constantly repeating. Threads like GAL and SAMA keep things more interesting. The fact that the 2 most active threads currently are this one and “Help Me Get Over Girlfriend’s Past” explains the rest.
