What Does Weed Do ?

i have been wondering what weed will do to my lifts . like i smoke about 2 a week and what will it do to lifting/sports. i don’t notice much of a difference but any answers.

weed is a metabolic downer like alcohol

textbook explanation is that it slows down metabolism so it should harm your performance.

What a quality first post.

wont hurt your lifts at all, i dont like it really before powerlifting training because it kinda kills my ability to get pumped up mentally, but for “high” volume work i find it helps me tune in on the muscle groups im using. also theres nothing better in the world after a deadlift pb then riping a bowl drinking 2 liters of homo milk and taking a nap. makes you hungry makes you sleepy combined with lifting… makes you bigger stronger faster

If you dont somehow get paid to lift (either as an athlete, model, etc) then just do whatever you feel like doing. Its not gonna make a huge difference.

I had to laugh at that one!! :}

I would think that smoking is an inferior way of administering pot for its best benefits. The smoke can’t be conducive to anything positive in the body.

Then again I haven’t smoked it in 24 years, so what do I know?


What you want to do is find the ‘toke range’ that works best for you. Some people like to take 1 hit and pass it. Others find that 6-8 or even 10-12 is what it takes for maximum benefit.

Work up to your ‘max toke’, then next time, try to use a bigger doobage.

here is something I found.

Eat your herb …don’t smoke it. Save your cardiovascular system.

Vape is the only way to go. I have a Vriptech setup @ home and use Vapman when I’m out in the woods…no smoke just tasty, tasty green.

Many years ago, I smoked some weed before lifting. I did it while benchpressing. Was very dangerous, as I forgot where I was in my lift during the lift.

It does not help performance.

It may help you after a high performance to relax if you are unable to do so yourself.

If you just smoke twice a week then you’ll be fine. As far as smoking before lifting goes, I wouldn’t want to do it on any exercise that involves any risk or serious amount of weight at all. TBH I’d probably just save it till after the session (though it can definitely help with the mind-muscle connection if that’s a big issue for you)
