Some folks start it from the top of the lockout to get the stretch reflex from rep 1, like benching. Always seemed too complicated to me.
Sort of, but what I mean is that you could set the bar on pins just below your sticking point. Especially if you are a strongman competitor and you are trying to improve your push press, bottom end strength might not be the limiting factor.

I did 210 on dead bench and that was my max on pause but i know i can get at least 215 paused.
I am not quite sure what you want me to do with that information.
