Hey, I’m officially tall! Wait till I tell all my friends.
Why would anyone 6’4" want to be taller? Believe me, there are enough issues being this tall in a world made for a 5’10" man.

Same benefit I’ve found, at 5’9/5’10
If I gain a couple pounds of muscle you hear about it pretty quickly. Any taller than that and any size you gain is quickly eaten up by that height.
I’d like to be an even 6 foot. Not so tall that you’re noticed specifically for being tall, but tall enough that you’re not considered short.

I’m 6’5"
It was about 30 pounds before anyone noticed I was getting bigger. That being said, I started out at 165, so 30 pounds was just a lower degree of skinny. But that’s what 14 hours a day of basketball does to you, I guess.
I consider anything over 6ft2 to be tall and for short anything under 5ft4
Im so happy i started lifting weights to stunt my growth at 5ft8 lol.

This is retarded. Someone who is 6’4" and doesn’t think they are tall is like someone of average height at 290lbs with 22" arms who doesn’t think they are “big”. At some point, there is a problem.
Would you consider 6’4" tall for a basketball player?
I’m 5’11" and people tell me I am tall. I am satisfied with my height, since my father is short (5’5"-5’6") and my mother is tall. Everyone in my mom’s family is tall, men and women. I look more like my father, but the height genes I got thankfully from my mom.
both my parents are 5’2", I’m thrilled at 5’10". An even 6’ would be awesome, but I’m definately not complaining.
either way, there’s not really much you can do…
I’m 5ft 11 and 7/8. No, god would not give me that actual 1/8 of an inch and I stopped at just shy of 6ft.
For white males aged 20 - 39 the average height in the good old US of A is 5ft 10.2 inches.

is 6’1" tall? your damn straight it is.
i’m 5’9" and am fine with that. every sport i’ve ever competed in, every position, my height has suited me fine. wouldn’t want to be any taller but wouldn’t want to be any shorter. 5’9"-10" range is perfect for lifting and the power sports i participate in now.
if I add 5lbs of muscle to my frame it looks like i actually added some size, if someone 6’0" adds five pounds not so much.
but like someone else in this thread, people who are taller than me are, “tall” and people who are shorter than me are, “short”.
oh that 5 lb comment is the bloody truth. At 6’1" I have 20lbs on some of my shorter friends and only look a little bigger.
But in answer to the original question, anything 6’1" and over is tall.

That sounds about right.
I’m 5’7", but 200 lbs. Thus, I feel “bigger” than a person who’s over 6 feet but under 200, having that beanpole body type. And the beanpole is even smaller still if they have low self-confidence.
Height is just one factor in “bigness”. Confidence is the most important.
The height thing can be a bitch, I’m 6’5" and I’ve put on 10 lbs and no one has any idea.

The question wasn’t, “is 6’4” tall for pro basketball?“. I would consider 6’4” pretty average on the low end for basketball with some players only hitting 6’2". Either way, 6’4" is tall in every other aspect of life and most people don’t live on basketball courts.
When in the hell did 5’8’’ become short? Ive always thought that 5’8’’ was average and anything above was freakin tall. I’m 5’3’', dont want to be taller.

I’m just saying that in my daily life I don’t feel especially tall because of the crowd I hang around with. It’s more like a bodybuilder who’s 6’1" 220# and decently built, but who hangs around with guys who are 260# of muscle all day. He probably wouldn’t consider himself especially big either.

That same bodybuilder would know the minute he left his group of friends how he related to the general public. The same should apply to you.

I think it is all relative. Anyone taller than me is tall, anyone shorter than me is short.
That’s how I look at it as well. I’m 6’5". I look at people 6’2"-6"4 as “pretty tall”. 6’5" is tall. Anyone taller is really tall ![]()
FYI- The average height of an NBA bball player is over 6’7".
Over 5’10 is tall. Under 5’10 is short.
