Ok, what do you kind folks consider tall? I’m about 6’1, and, I’ve struggled with whether I’m tall or not. Usually, I feel like I’m short. I know this is weird, because, 5’10 is like average height, but, still, I just wish I was taller. Anyway, when dealing with normal people, not NBA players, what do you consider tall? What’s the cut-off point?
I am 6’2 and I dont feel tall, but everyone else thinks I am.
I think it is all relative. Anyone taller than me is tall, anyone shorter than me is short.
Dude, you need to be slapped on the head. 6’1" is a really good height to be. No, you’re not going to be the tallest guy in the room, but you’re not going to be a freak show either. Start getting into the 6’8" range and you start looking goofy.
But I guess everyone wants to be taller. I knew a guy who was 6’4" who wanted to be taller. I’ve learned to be content at 5’8".

Teach me the ways to be content with 5’8" cause I think it sucks… how the hell does this genetics thing work anyway’s! My dad is 6’2" and my mom is 5’10" how the hell did I get the short end of the stick??

Did we go to school together or something?

I’m 6’4" and I don’t really consider myself especially tall. That’s probably because I play college volleyball, where I’m a little on the short end. Most of my better friends are players and are in the 6’6" to 6’8" range. Half the time I’m the shortest guy in my group.

Whole lot more than just mommy and daddy. For instance my cousin is barely 5’6", yet his parents were 6’ and 5’9". 3 of 4 of his grandparents and a good part of his total family are/were short though (under 5’7").
Me, I’m 6’1" and parents were 6’1", 5’9". 3 of 4 grandparents as well as a good part of my total family are/were tall/very tall (6’ or taller for the men and 5’8" or taller for the women).
I’ve simplified a quite a bit too, but hoperfully this helps to illustrate some of the real comlexity.

First of all, that’s tall. I definitely wish I had an inch or two more (I’m 5’11) I think it definitely helps in athletic endeavors.
It’s all relative. I think anyone 6’1" and over is tall.
I’m 5’11". I’ve been called tall. I’m under my standards for tall by 2 inches.

I’m almost opposite in my thinking here. When I was growing up, I wanted to be about 6’-6’2" (I’m 6’1").
There were many nights that I spent praying that I would get that tall. Now that I made it, there are times I wish I was actually shorter (usually in times of high stress when all my reasoning abilities head to the Bahamas).
I think anything above 6’0 is tall. I’m 5’10 myself and usually fell “average” throughout the day.
This is retarded. Someone who is 6’4" and doesn’t think they are tall is like someone of average height at 290lbs with 22" arms who doesn’t think they are “big”. At some point, there is a problem.
Most people don’t realize their own height, and think whatever height they are at is shorter than it actually is.
You seem to have questions about height you can find some information at www.celebheights.com
At 6’1" how many people a day do you see that are taller than you? You may be just noticing the few that are taller and not the rest who are shorter. I am 187cm (6’1.75" or right under 6’2" though I am usually at 6’2" or a bit over when I wake up, lowest height is 6’1.5" during most of the day). Guys that truly make me feel smaller are in the 6’5" range and up, met a 6’8" guy but I didn’t have to look up too much to talk to him. As far as a general good height for most athletics, fighting, weightlifting I would say 6’1" to 6-3" is ideal.
I don’t see many benefits to being 6’9", I don’t get it?
6’1" seems to becoming that grey zone, hence why it is hard for you to know whether you are tall or not.
Im 5’ 4" ![]()
is 6’1" tall? your damn straight it is.
i’m 5’9" and am fine with that. every sport i’ve ever competed in, every position, my height has suited me fine. wouldn’t want to be any taller but wouldn’t want to be any shorter. 5’9"-10" range is perfect for lifting and the power sports i participate in now.
if I add 5lbs of muscle to my frame it looks like i actually added some size, if someone 6’0" adds five pounds not so much.
but like someone else in this thread, people who are taller than me are, “tall” and people who are shorter than me are, “short”.
I’m only 5’6", but I feel tall. Of course the only thing I compare myself with is my cat. Compared to him though, I’m a giant.

Same benefit I’ve found, at 5’9/5’10
If I gain a couple pounds of muscle you hear about it pretty quickly. Any taller than that and any size you gain is quickly eaten up by that height.
I’d like to be an even 6 foot. Not so tall that you’re noticed specifically for being tall, but tall enough that you’re not considered short.
what do u consider your accurate height measurement, cause im exactly 6ft when i wake up in the morning but upto an inch less during the evenings, also my upper body is much thicker then average so i would probably loose more height as the day progresses.
