By trade I am a computer programmer… for fun I like to hike the Appalachian trail and travel, travel, and travel. Currently have trips planned to Ocean City MD, Pittsburgh PA, Washington DC, back to the ocean, Williamsburg VA, Washington DC again, Panamal Canal cruise for 16 days, Pittsburgh PA, Willaimsburg VA at Christmas, South beach in January and Caribbean cruise in February. Traveling is the spice of life. Also getting off once a day isn’t bad either.
What kind of programming do you do? I’m currently studying computer engineering. Still trying to figure out what direction i want to go, there are so many different pathes to choose from.
Spending time with my wife and our two cats. Bible study, church and other church activities. Hanging out with friends, especially if we are playing board games (favorites - Settlers of Catan and its advanced additions, Taboo, Outburst, Cranium and Scattergories). Basketball is my primary sport although if my wife and I will ever drop cable TV, we’ll probably use the money to pay for a membership to a climbing gym. Climbing is great, but I have not done much. I’d like to eventually do some outdoor climbing, but I’ve only gone once. My reading interest comes and goes. It is on hold right now until Harry Potter 5 comes out. I devoured the first four in about a month after somebody loaned me the unabridged audio reading of book 1. Well, that’s all I can think of right now. Oh yeah, and we have two great cats.
Where in Portland is Randy Coutures school? I’m new to Portland so I dont know these thing. Its Team Quest isnt it?
Glad you asked! I was thinking of you when we were checking this out. The guy who runs Team Quest is Robert. And he’s formerly with Straight Blast. Hey, we’re gonna sign up in September. Anywhoos, their number is: 503-661-4134. Give 'em a call, and tell 'em we sent you!
Well we hunt them out of boats and mostly with alligator lines. You use a small rope type line and cut it about 40-50 feet long. On one end you tie it to a 10ft pole and the other end you have a hook. Then you take a bait pole and stick it diagonally(45 degrees from line pole) and you hang the hook off of that with a piece of chicken. You set the lines during the day or night and come check them the next morning. You can also ride around and shoot alligators if you see them in shallow water or hook them with a big fishing pole. If you shoot them in deep water you will never find them. Usually I will use my 243 with a scope to shoot them riding around and a 22magnum to shoot them off the lines. It is a lot harder to shoot them riding around because alligators get spooked real easy, especially the bigger ones. The bigger ones can also stay under water for around 45 minutes. They are pretty smart. One time we seen a big one go under and waited for 30 minutes in the boat. He didn’t come up, so my cousin and I got off on the bank and let the people in the boat drive away. Right after they got a 1/2 mile away he popped up about 20 feet away. We hooked him and held him there till the boat came back. He ended up being 13 foot 2 and 700 pounds. That’s the biggest alligator I ever saw before. It took 5 of us to get him in the boat. The record for an alligator in the US is 14 foot 2, so this was a monster. Lucky he didn’t come after us. All in all it is pretty fun.
I forgot to tell you about the taste. It almost tastes like fish but a little tougher. It’s a white meat and it is lean.
I like to cruise liberal websites that make fun of george weaselboy our illustrious traitor in chief. Yeah, help the 2 bin laden bros escape the country-way to go bush boy.
I would have expected larger caliber weapons. Then again I’m of the “more is better” philosophy with most things. Thanks for the info!
What’s the weather like in Fantasy Land?
Now I’m not going to lie to you, sometimes we have to shoot the big ones 4 or 5 times with the 22 magnum. The biggest reason for the smaller calliber weapons is that we also sell the heads. The 243 blows a big enough hole in the skull as it is already. You actually only have to go through an inch of skull on the head to penetrate the brain, which kills them pretty quickly. Also the only part out of the water on the alligator usually is the head. You also can’t shoot them anywhere else, because it will mess up the hide and the price . You can tell from my long posts that I like hunting them.
Bowhunt for trophy whitetail bucks. I also like to hunt turkeys, ducks, geese, pheasants and just about everything else that’s legal. We live off the deer, it’s lean and high in protein. I don’t like to buy processed meat anymore, have gotten used to wild game and everything else tastes funny. To Dustin wasn’t the next line “Let’s play chess” - Cleavon Little. Great movie.
Sounds like we would get a long. Both into training (obviously), both married, both like cats, both like board games (I like cards too), both like church and bible studies. I’m having trouble keeping up with church and games since I’m busy finishing up college, working, and taking care of the wife and baby. Whereabouts are you again? I’ll go check that thread. If you’re ever in Arizona let me know.
Other than training at the gym with my husband I love when I get a workout in the bedroom with a bunch of t-men. The way the sweat and JUICES glow on my body feels and looks great.
Sounds good! I’m not too far away. I’m in the South Bay Area in California. I live in Sunnyvale, which is right next to San Jose. I’m always up for meeting some of my fellow forum contributors. My wife and I will get a chance to meet Patricia and ko in 2 weeks and we are really looking forward to that. We have no trips planned for Arizona, but we’re up for hearing a reason to check out the area. We’re actually planning to move in a year, either back to Northern California (Sacramento area) or somewhere else that is beautiful, reasonably priced and has a personality.
Kimika - sorry, you’re trying a bit too hard to sound like ~karma~
D Rock, I orginally started out doing RPG II, Cobol, and basic programming. Now I am working with a Peoplesoft tools set using Oracle as the Dbase. While I don’t love programming… it’s a good living and allows me to travel which I do love to do.
I’ll be in Mission Beach in August from the 10th to the 17th. I was thinking about training at PowerHouse Gym down there while I’m on vacation with the family. I guess I’ll be too far down south for you huh?
Yeah, that is still quite a drive (about 6 hours give or take a bit) and I’m pretty sure I don’t have any trips planned to Southern Cal at the time. Maybe another time ![]()
Fantasy sports, downloading music, stunting, stunting, and more stunting. Actually stunting and training are my two favorite things to do. I did a fullup one arm arabesque this weekend which i was thoroughly enthused about. Ive recently started hanging out with this nice young cheerleader with beautiful skin. Im thinking that she is going to be taking most of my time hopefully for a while.
