What Diet has Worked Best for You?

The Anabolic diet. I never thought I would grow this fast until I finally swallowed my pride and understanding of the krebs cycle/glyconeogenisis and went for it. I fully endorse it.

I totally agree with you, I have been doing the anabolic diet for close to two months. I have responded really well to the low carbs, mod protein, high fats. Losing fat while increasing strength has been great.

I eat shitload of card and protein in the morning then only fats and protein

I am starting to dislike eating carbs in the morning

As the most knowledgeable people I know on the subject (as you guys have gone through it), I figure that you all could help me with the little predicament that I’m in right now.

I’ve been in a very low carb (<50 g per day) for a few months now. In addition, I’ve been staying with a very low caloric intake (< 2000 calories at a body weight of 190, I’ve lost around 40 pounds in 5 months and have maintained my strength levels).

From what I can tell, my fat loss has really stalled and I’m looking for the best way to get past this stall point. I’m in wrestling and because of the necessity to maintain my weight (I wrestle in the 189 weight class), I’m not looking to gain a large amount of weight (especially fat).

What would be the best way to go about doing this? Should I look to some sort of timed carb approach? Should I lay off the diet for a little bit and then get back on it?

Sounds like your metabolism is shot down. I would suggest a day of high carbs about 1 gram CHO x 3-4 times your body weight. See what happens. If it does work, aim for 5x the following refeed. I’m not sure it will help you at this point and you might just need a week or two of a break from dieting. I might even suggest 3-4 HIGH days in a row.

Seeing as how my Thanksgiving break is coming up, I’ll go with that plan of 3-4 high days in a row. Should I aim for certain types of carbohydrates during the time period or just eat whatever I can get my hands on?

Thanks so much for your response elusive.

Don’t choose 3-4 high days because it sounds the most fun (it is). If thats what you think is needed, then fine. I would have started with maybe just one high day, but in truth 3-4 high days will NOT ruin your progress. Do what makes you happy. The only thing I would suggest is to try to keep the fat during your high days low/lowish. So have carb sources that are naturally low in fat like potatoes, rice, oatmeal, pasta, bread and even pancakes, waffles, bagels ect. Ya know, all the stuff you haven’t had in 5 months. Enjoy.

For me, the Precision Nutrition Lean Eating program has produced consistent results for cutting fat.

Did somebody say the Cheat To Lose Diet could be used for a clean bulk? Where can I find this diet? Also, could the Anabolic Diet be used for a bulk?

With respect to ruining progress, I completely agree. With respect to weight, you may blow up even after just one crazy refeed day. My last diet consisted of a refeed once every 14 days, typically consisting of a ridiculous amount of carbs. It wasn’t unusual for me to put on 6-8 lbs over night, obviously from rehydrating and not fat gain. Just something to think about with respect to you needing to make weight. Besides that, I second that you should first try adding in a refeed day once a week, possibly starting off first with 2-3 days before shifting to just once a week. If that doesn’t help, you may need to take a break from your diet. We’re always agreeing eluvise, wtf.

I believe the cheat to lose diet is simply a no carb, all protein all fat diet for the most part. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong though…

Good point. Don’t panic when you bloat up and experience water weight gains. Completely normal. You’ll shed it all in a few days.

Great information, that’s exactly what I needed to hear. I’ve been enjoying the last two days (to say the least) and I’ve been making sure to lift with a really high intensity so I can get any sort of benefit out of all the carbs. I’ll probably cut the carbs around Friday night and resume my diet on Saturday.

Thanks for all the help!
