My doc (D.O.) prescribed 1 shot per week, is that what I could expect a GP who specialized in the aged while living and working in Las Vegas to do? I don’t think I could be bothered with 3 shots per week. Seems like a lot of trouble. It’s a pretty big difference in the way it is prescribed between you and I.
I took blshaw’s frequent recommendation and saw a remote clinic and went over my blood in detail with them and it was fascinating. Anyway, the doctor said because of my SHBG levels I should inject 3 times a week. I had to do 2, particularly at higher doses of stuff. Can’t imagine I used to do 1 once a week decades ago. So maybe slightly depends on person. But even the doctor kind of laughed about when she prescribed once a week. Maybe find an easy way to inject to make it more convenient. I inject a healing peptide everyday for elbow and it’s not too bad. Just an insulin needle.
Thanks I am only 3 weeks in and feel nothing different at all yet. I don’t know what to expect really so……………..
It takes about 4-5 weeks to start noticing changes. The half life of the drug is a week and it takes 4-5 half lives for peak saturation. Your body also has to “react” to the new hormone levels which isn’t instant. A lot of guys notice mood first then energy followed by body composition changes.
If you Google it, you can get a list of changes you can expect by the week. The benefits start about week six and continue out to a year or more.
At week three, you are no where close to feeling the full benefits. Give it time.
So what happens after the benefits reach their potential in a year or so? Do they slide backwards or do you peak and maintain what you’ve gained and it just be becomes the normal you? Thanks very much!
This one sir. The honeymoon phase is real where many guys feel elated for a month or two due to the increase in Testosterone after being low T for so long. Testosterone modulates / increases dopamine for a time which eventually settles. You’ll still see the benefits but some guys chase the euphoria feeling and it simply doesn’t last. You’ll still have all the health benefits.
Hi again!
I was wondering if you had a reference or an understanding of what supplements might be beneficial to a senior such as myself at 67 on TRT. I am currently taking 10,000 iu of D3, 180mg magnesium, 1000mg C, and a Vitamin K complex from Sports research. I have been unable to find a Multi Vitamin to cover the bases and haved toyed with using creatine for its multi benefits. Any ideas would be so much appreciated. At this point my Dr. was supposed to return in December but I already have another stand in. I have already come to value your opinions and realize you’re quite knowledgeable. Thanks for any ideas or input you might have!
I would get bloodwork to identify any deficiencies.
I’m due in 3 weeks for a complete workup but have been borderline high on my hematocrit when the DR prescribed TRT. I am only just learning about all these things and have been trying to supplement for family history in cardiac health. DR. only advised me to donate blood and did not seem concerned. I am taking a low dose aspirin K2 and Nattokinase based on a recent study I came across but DR’s are so uninformed. My bloodwork was really pretty good and comprehensive 6 mos ago except for the T levels. Estrogens were at 77 on a chart that went from 56-213.
You can make a substantial dent in SHBG with LJ100 and then cycle 10mg Boron two weeks on/one off.
On a scale of 19.3 to 76.4 being a normal range I was at 45
Hi everyone!
I am about to take my fifth weekly 100mg shot and I am due to see my DR in a couple weeks with labs. I am feeling pretty good just the last few days but have noticed my nipples are realy quite firm but no other symptoms other than feeling good. Is this ok?
Yes you can experience some weird sensations there while your hormones are adjusting. If it becomes painful or develops hard lumps talk to the doc.
I missed your prior post but I’m not a big believer in supplements unless your labs show deficiency. Some things to consider are Vitamin D, DHEA, and magnesium (at night). Fish oils are good too for omegas.
Mostly what I’m already taking lol! I found a really good DHA/EPA (Calimari) from Carlson third party tested and comes in higher.
Carlsons good. For pill vitamins I prefer Douglas Labs.
You have any ideas for a simple multi vitamin I just want to cover the bases but most formulations have too high a concentration. I already use Super K and 10k on D3 every day. Thanks!
Good Morning,
I have been on TRT 100mg for 6 weeks now and due for bloodwork today but since I already let you know I am almost without a DR. What should I look for in the labs. I will see a new DR in 2 weeks should I get help elsewhere? On a side note morning wood comes at 0700hrs everyday but not so much when needed. I do feel good though and feel like doing things I did years ago. Expecting too much??? Thanks for listening!
