I’m 67 everythings normal but my freeT. My DR. prescribed 100mg sub per week. I don’t seem to fit the normal patterns. My height is 6 3" wt 200 any opinions as to what could be? Thanks. I walk for exercise but no weights and really not in bad shape!
I’m 35, 6’4” and 230 and active my whole life. Low Testosterone doesn’t discriminate.
Did you mean 50mg? 50ml is a unit of measurement not a dosage. For example, 50ml would be over a years worth of TRT for me.
What low testosterone could be? I would talk to your doctor about this, but it’s not surprising. As we age, testosterone decreases.
You may want to post your bloodwork with lab ranges. With the info you’ve provided there is no way for anyone to help.
Also assuming your Dr prescribed 50mg/wk not 50ml/wk.
You are correct 100mg per week. My total cholesterol is at 212 Glucose at 90 and my A1C 5.4 where it’s been most of my life. Estrogens are ay 77, Dihydro is 41, Free T is 3.6 and Total T is 497 SHBG was right in the middle of the scale at 45 for normal. Except for the Free T everything seems ok for a 67 year old guy except the Free T. My doc says my nads are just tired lol!
Labs ranges are needed but you likely have high SHBG. Need to know what your E2 is at as well as FSH and Lh. 100mg/wk is fine to start but if SHBG is high you’ll likely need a bit more.

What was the range? 45 is normally at the higher end and with your moderate to low TT the FT is obviously low with that SHBG.
Labcorp shows the normal range at 19.3 to 76.4 and I am at 45.3.
Ah… prob cuz you’re 67 and it tends to go up as you age. Anyway yeah you’re low T. Start the 100mg and increase as necessary with follow up,labs.
You know life is funny and cruel at the same time. Are the risks in your understanding real for someone my age? My Dr. never really covered any of it and it’s my fault for not asking. Just a knowledgeable opinion if you have one would be a start. Thanks either way though!
I don’t know of any risk for responsible TRT levels. I think your doc starting you at a reasonable 100mg/wk is smart considering your age. If you’re one of those guys that’s dead set on more is better when it comes to dosage… then you end up with troubles.
Thanks for the insight on things.
I have one last question sir! I was wondering if I can draw and inject with a 27 gauge 1/2 syringe Sub - q and where I can order them. Thanks!
Takes a bit to draw, but this is what I use. I did sub q for nearly a year, but found IM to be easier and didn’t give me hard lumps like subq did
Amazon says they won’t ship to me in Florida!
Hi Chris I am sorry if I missed your response but would it be ok to use a 27G 1/2” for subQ? i have already done one injection but I’m not confident. My Dr. originally gave me 25G 5/8” syringes and I read the insulin needle would work. I found it easy but is it reasonable to use them? Thanks!
This what I use for subq injections, yes.
They will. Been using them for years.
Absolutely. Amazon won’t ship to Florida where I’m at either. I also use GPZ like @s.gentz shared.
Amazon used to ship to NY but don’t anymore. Wonder what changed?
GPC is just across the border from me. Usually get my order in two days.
