Yeah I don’t know. When it first happened I started using Walmart then that went away too. GPZ has been around since for two plus decades as I used them in the early 2000s so I went back to them.
Thanks everyone!!! I was able to order from Riteway medical in Tampa but they are insulin needles would I benefit with the GPZ type somehow? Thanks!
No both are the same. For subQ a 27ga insulin all in one needle / syringe combo is best. I’m in Tampa also, welcome to a local.
Thanks! As I mentioned and you agreed my free T was low. What troubles me a bit was my RBC and hematocrit was just over the line. I am wondering whether my DR. should have prescribed TRT. Any thoughts? I’d ask him but he’s been on sick leave. Just looking for an opinion, I’ve been taking aspirin and started Nattokinase and K2 from a very promising study I found. also drinking more fluids and eating grapefruit, will get blood tested at the end of the six weeks start.
Definitely keep an eye on those two during your follow up labs. Some guys do have issues with blood thickening on TRT but thats individual. Also it tends to happen on higher doses and yours again is a responsible level to start. If your follow up labs show an increase in these two markers you can try a few things to mitigate the problem. If that doesn’t work or is too much of a hassle you may need to stop. I wouldn’t “not try” TRT because of borderline high hematocrit, but that’s me.
Thanks again and will do much appreciated. I’m 67 now and had been feeling like I was going down the drain. It wasn’t until my DR. suggested labs that we found the probable reason and I’m just looking to feel human again!
Hello!
I am wondering if I can run something by you? It is 4 days after my second shot of.05ml 100mg per week of testosterone cypionate and I have developed something I have never had in my life, pain in my right foot kinda of like Plantar Fascitis. Since it is not really going away and the weekend is here I thought I might ask if this could be related. Again, never had foot problems nor did I injure myself in the last 2 weeks. My Doctor is out sick so I’d have to see a stand in or could I just stop after just two shots? Opinion only? 67 yo male. Maybe I’m just too old to start.
Nothing to do with taking test directly. You still haven’t posted lab ranges or complete labs so there is really no way anyone can help you more than they have.
As far as the foot goes, PF is caused by overuse typically or acute injury. Are you a runner? Have you changed your shoes recently or are your shoes worn out? Have you recently spent a lot of time standing on concrete?
You way inside your head. If you want real help you need to post better bloods.
If you do choose not to continue now would be the time.
IMO, I would find a better doc as @blshaw suggested. Call Defy.
It’s .5ml not .05ml. Make sure you’re dosing correctly.
Your foot pain is not from Testosterone. You can certainly bail after two shots and walk away. Many men have anxiety from starting this process but healthy T levels don’t cause “issues” in your foot.
I’ve actually found references to testosterone causing tendon problems in some individuals The Connection Between TRT and Tendonitis: What You Need to Know - mostly as a reaction to introducing the hormone into the body in older adults. I was merely asking if anyone had ever heard of this before and I think this would be due a reaction in the surge from current levels.
Some research suggests that testosterone plays a role in tendon health. Testosterone receptors have been found in tendons, which means that this hormone may influence how tendons function and heal. This raises the question of whether TRT, by altering testosterone levels, could also affect tendons in ways that might increase or decrease the risk of tendonitis. Some patients on TRT have reported tendon pain or discomfort, leading researchers to investigate whether there is a direct link between TRT and tendonitis.
Again, I was a runner earlier in my life and familiar with caring for my body. I have never ever had a foot problem other than tripping over a curb while wasted off my ass and rolling my foot, so I find it odd I’m suffering now two weeks in but hey I’m old lmao! Thanks guys!!!
Let me be blunt for the sake of reducing paragraphs of explanation for every nanny you have incoming that you will want to attribute to Testosterone. You’re acting like a hypochondriac. I mean that in the nicest way. Many older folks I meet are the same. Two weeks of Testosterone are not even reaching peak saturation of affecting you body in meaningful ways yet. Perhaps you should really stop if it’s causing you mental anguish.
That’s honest and you’ve been very helpful actually and part of the reason I have gotten into T. I have read T can help with attitude and depression in adults which as I have read can include alleviating aches and pains many older adults suffer with. Thanks for dispelling some of my anxiety with your patience you are truly an emmissary for TRT! Wish me luck.
Good luck sir! Thank you for not taking my directness as an insult. That’s refreshing. TRT is for the most part “Take it and don’t think about it.” With responsible dosages anyway. Many guys push twice your dose and are more likely to develop side effects. You won’t notice much of anything for about 4-5 weeks then your changes will start to manifest physically and mentally.
Thanks for engaging in discussion with an old goat like me. We never even discussed the options you have today and accepted aging without question. Immortality no, a better life down the road hopefully! No offense taken this isn’t easy for those who wouldn’t have even thought about it!
I’m also 6’3”, 195 and 67. Have always been active, lifting, bikes rowing etc… and very competitive. Have been on 100mg of test cyp per week, in 3 shots, for 21/2 years and bloods and sex life are great. I have various aches and pains as well, but that’s part of getting older, and I look better than most guys half my age, IMO…lol. I’d recommend lifting along with the cardio, and a healthy, protein first diet. I’d also recommend staying on the test for at least 2-3 months, along with the diet and weights and see how things are then. 100mg of test isn’t going to hurt you. Hang in there.
Well said!
Thanks for the insight I’ve been active most of my life and still have an athletic appearance but after thyroid cancer 10 years ago I really never felt the same but hey it also coincided with the aging male so who knows. I am very health conscious as well but this thing with my aching feet is new and I am starting to evaluate my supplements! Thanks for the peptalk and keep on keepin on.
Sorry to hear about the cancer. Have a problem now with my left foot, had it xrayed, its arthritis. Probably due to all the running I did as a triathlete, and not being a smaller guy. Have also had a right knee replacement and both shoulders are bone on bone from my years as a D1 distance swimmer. Too many of my parts are past warranty, lol. I just keep finding work arounds. Right now doing a lot of rowing on the Concept 2, doesnt bother ny shoulders or lower body joints ,hoping to do a sub 7 minute 2k, along with my lifting. Keep fighting the good fight!
It’s all good and better than death, been free for years but it definately changed me. Since you started TRT was it a struggle to juggle blood work and did it still work the same way after 2 years you know with constant adjustments? Thanks!
Basically haven’t adjusted my 100mg dose since I started and bloods have been good the whole time. Got better actually as I cleaned up my diet a bit and stopped drinking as much. 3 shots a week, TT is 850with good SHBG, and estrodial, and FreeT numbers.
