What Are You Reading?

I felt the same way. It was just loooonnnnnggggg. lol

I haven’t read this one, but “Long Bright River” was really good if you haven’t checked that one out!

“Now Is Not The Time To Panic” wasn’t too shabby!!!

I have that collection - I absolutely love Calvin & Hobbes!

Holy shit. I just realized something. I have a blond trouble-making 6 year old.

And a smaller one who has fangs and is currently non-verbal, so the older one translates for him, and everyone calls him “tiger.”

What the fuck is happening? This is the most surreal “life imitates art” moment I’ve had in a while.

On the plus side, I’m already sarcastic, so Calvin’s dad seems pretty cool.

I’m sure reading Calvin and Hobbes builds character.

You know, I wanted to be mad because I didn’t think of it, but that was too clever. A+.

That was the first of her books I read, I really liked it!

Bring Up The Bodies - Hilary Mantle. Turns out this is a trilogy, this is turning into a major commitment!

I’ve just done a little run of autobiographies:

Then It Fell Apart - Moby. Loved this - even better than his first book.
Rassie Erasmus’s autobiography. (He just coached South Africa to back-to-back Rugby World Cup wins, not one for US readers I guess.)
Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal - Jeannette Winterson. I think she’s a really great writer, this was really raw and honest.

I am interested in this as a US reader, but I also use to play rugby and watch the Rugby World cup when I can. Springboks as a team have an extremely interesting history.

See if you can find a series called “Chasing The Sun”, follows the Springboks over the last 2 World Cups, it’s a great insight into what rugby means to South Africa!

My Libby still doesn’t have The Housemaids secret. I will have to see if it’s on sale on Audible.

I put TheWomen on the hold list and I am 1,286th in line…lol I may get to listen to it next year.

LAME!!! Lol.

It’s worth the wait. I promise!!

Just read (listened) to the first book in the Dave Robicheaux series, Neon Rain, written way back in 1987 lol.

Interesting, had a film noir feel to it. I plan to continue with the series.

Still on a the Walt Longmire binge. On book 14 now.

Listened to the new Jack Carr -
Red Sky Mouring and found it tedious with all the wine and gourmet food.

Also listened to the new Andrews & Wilson- Ember. Good, but not their best.

Tried listening to An American Outlaw but just can’t stand the narrator.

I did that a while ago!

Book 18, Hell and Back, stopped me cold it was so…well, maybe it’s better on audio. Based on review score, it looks like the series is back on track with Book 19 so I’m going back in.

Watched the video series as well. Thought it was great except final episode was a little “strange” lol. The actors were great, but the romance fit was not there imo.
