What Are You Reading?

Everyone says that’s brilliant, but I absolutely hated it gave up 80 pages in. Be interesting to hear what you think!

Just finished I’m Your Emotional Support Animal: Navigating our All Woke No Joke Culture by Adam Corolla.
Given that it’s written by a comedian and it uses some hyperbole to get the points across I found it an interesting read. Tackles the subjects of what’s wrong with society (from an atheist conservatives view) in a way that for a second makes you think that either the issues are self correcting - or we might all be screwed.

I might have to read that … I love Adam Corolla

Starting “waiter rant” in Chinese. Very good. Very interesting experience imagining them speaking Chinese

I bought it which I kind of regret because it’s so short (I think I read it in under 3 hours).
His argument in the book is that we (collectively) are turning into a bunch of weak willed, fear filled morons, because we don’t push ourselves collectively to do or talk about what might be uncomfortable.

Also, he has a list of celebrities in the book who would be appalled to sleep with him and the reasoning - it’s just good comedy there.

I’m about halfway through Infinite Jest. It’s weird yet awesome. I also recently started listening to Nomadland by Jessica Bruder, which is… interesting.

Just finished Infinite Jest. Wow.

Now reading Eichmann in Jerusalem, which I’ve been planning to read for a while.

Unraveled. Book 5 of the Red River Mystery series bt Reaviz Z Wortham

Cornwell: Sharpe’s Battle

Am reading my way through the Sharpe series, good entertainment and are learning a bit about the Napolenic Wars in the process.

You could also check the original memoirs that inspired Cromwell to write Sharpe’s novels. It’s a very unusual read that stays with you for some time. Especially the casual tone in which Harris describes the horrors of the Peninsular campaign and the staggering number of casualties.

Finished Eichmann in Jerusalem as well as a readable and fun little biography of Arendt’s life. Now I’m reading Imperium by Ryszard Kapuściński. Only fifty pages in but loving it so far.

Your reading speed is impressive. Or rather your prioritization of reading time.

I read more than the average person, but 200-300 page books are pretty quick.

Back in school after many, many years, so currently reading Aldo Leopold’s A Sand County Almanac for class.

I’m reading the Hercules Poirot series because I am, in fact, an elderly English woman. Really solid reads, some great characters in there if you don’t mind the general flavour of European aristocracy.

Reading Grain Brain
Okay so far, but i question anything that has turned into a “nutrition system” type of deal. Will report back later.

Reading a lot of Bradley Steiner’s stuff. I’m on this early 50’s and 60’s weight lifting article kick.
