Really…I thought HIIT was the best, i never really thought of body fat, so i have been doing HIIT for no reason??

keep doing the HIIT its the best form of cardio for fat loss.
It works for those who have tons of fat to lose. If you’re already under 18-20%BF, I’d stick to low intensity 30-40 mins fasted in the AM immediately after waking up. For those on severely restricted diets, lower intensity spares the muscles and strips away fat very efficiently. Couple the cardio with HOT-ROX or other thermo for the best effect.
Why do you say this? HIIT is intended to burn more calories outside the gym as well as a handful during. Why would it be more affective for someone under 18% BF? Decrease rest periods, EPOC.

Because the higher intensity intervals are more likely to burn carbs, which is basically glucose from your liver stores and muscles. Consider the estimated claim is 100grams of glucose in your liver and 100g in your muscles. Thats 800 calories before you even get to burning fat. Once those stores are low your going to be burning muscle/fat at a much higher rate then if you were doing low intesinty exercise.
So double negative, your burning muscle and upping your catabolic hormones. Which means soon as you eat, any fat goes straight to your fat stores, the fructose will go straight to your liver stores, soon as thats too much more of it will go to your fat stores, and you’ve lossed a little muscle.
Compare that to proper dieting combined with low intensity cardio. For the amount of time you are doing cardio you are burning mostly fat if not only fat. And your catabolic hormones are not all over the place. Much better route.
As to why it’s 18%, its an estimate like everything else including the amount of carbs your liver stores. Considering theres no way to even acurately measure body fat, everything is an estimate, but the principal is valid.
Why do you think you see professional bodybuilders during a cut sticking to low intensity cardio the most? Because it works.
wow now i am totally confused on what to do for cardio haha. so many conflicting theories on what works and what doesn’t.
Hey toughs,
After reading all of this I can’t help but try and push the Waterbury Summer Project on you. I’m not even done yet and I feel that I have personally hit my fat loss goals.
It works. Period. It will also give you some great fitness ideas for your future workouts. Please give it some thought.
Best of luck to you, nothing can be more frustrating than fat loss. With some research and ambition though, not to mention a sound diet (T-Dawg 2.0), man you got it.
cool thanks everyone, i am going to try the T-Dawg 2.0. i guss i need to order all these suppliments then.
BCAA
Surge
Metabolic Drive

Yeah, I thought that, too. I think it’s just his skin, not his fat.

ROTFLMAO!!!
OP, you need major work on your diet. Read some more 'cause you don’t seem to understand the basics. Without going into details the main flaws could be summed up in one word protein. You might also want to focus on PWO nutrition.
Best of luck.
Wahoo stop the presses. Did Lixy just give useful advice, let alone about nutrition??

Your arms are bigger than his whole body. Pick a more realistic goal.
to the person talking about HIIT.
When deciding to do HIIT, there is no magical BF% that will say you should or shouldn’t do it.
Do you really think going from 16.9% to 17% BF would make a difference on when to do HIIT?
It has more to do with your overall nutritional program.
tell very lean sprinters that they shouldn’t do HIIT for their conditioning because they will lose their precious muscle and you’ll get looked at funny.
moral of the story, assuming you’re properly fueling your body, perform HIIT first, then other types of cardio if you have time.

i doubt that, his arms dont look smaller than mine at all, just more defined shoulders and tri/bi’s.

I think i am gonna try this out. the only thing is i dont see a dedicated arm workout throught the whole 8 week program? Is this correct?
Yes and guess what…
not only did I strip fat off and i’m the leanest i’ve ever been BUT
new muscle growth in areas I have been neglecting (due to either ignorance or sloth), specifically upper back, rear shoulders and…::swallows hard:: legs
and my arms, i swear, grew a bit
perhaps it was due to fat loss that I am seeing things differently, but after months and months of isolating arms at some point throughout my workout, they responded really well to compound lifts.
This happens and I’ve read about it before in how compound lifts do this.
So yes you’re correct, but within 3 weeks I was glad i did that program
Best of luck and pm me if you got any questions

Brad Pitt in Troy?
seriously, pitt in troy was pretty big.
HIIT - my current thinking is that it yields better results when eating closer to maintenance… severe calorie restriction and HIIT will strip muscle like fucking crazy - even whilst mega dosing the good old bcaa’s and the such.
With regards to HIIT being one of the better ways to drop fat… Is it as simple as the extra calories nailed post exertion? Or is there something else? Also what happens with regards to EPOC when you chug a carb/calorie rich PWO shake? Will your body still be encouraged to make use of stored energy when you are throwing another source down your throat?
all these posters swear by these bcaa’s, huh. are they that good?

I am curious to hear what your diet is like. right now i am about 160lbs with about 14%BF according to my one spot clippers.
i have taken this whole week off due to the fact that i have been dieting/lifting for about a year straght with no breaks. so i figured ill take this week off, try to get my diet in shape and get some supps (Surge, Metabolic drive,Hot-Rox, bcaa’s, i already have some fish oils but not as potent as Flameout)
any other suggestions on feeding times/supp times/doses?
