Westside One Mistake at a Time

That pic looks festive. Like ornaments hanging from the bar!

I’ve seen this with one plate. But not the abundance. I bet that makes stabilization a bitch.

Yep Snap, the gang all pitched their bands for that one. That’s my son (when he was lifting :frowning: ) Even better with a bamboo bar, really shaky. One training partner even cut a thick bamboo piece from his backyard, it was fun too, but only last about a month before it cracked.

Joe, how was the crazy bell press at lower weight higher reps???

It felt really odd but it killed my triceps.

Thats 315 box squat was a real grinder and I think I need to get much better at staying really tight. I’m also going to foce myself to learn how to front squat properly. I’ve never been good at it and I hate the choking feeling but I’m positive I need to get better at them.

Good for you for, I truly hate this phrase, taking yourself out of your comfort zone. (cringe)

It’s funny, we dislike certain lifts because they’re uncomfortable and they’re uncomfortable because we don’t do them. It’s a vicious circle…like fat people and jogging I suppose.

Joe, do you have mini bands? try speed with double mini’s and lower the bar weight a bit?

oh, I’m catching you on DB rows, I upped my game to 85’s today, lol

Right now I’m using dble mini+135. So should I drop down to 115+bands.

Okay after review I think I have short bands. I set them up by using db’s on the floor and hooking the bands by the DB handles.

above log entry stated micro mini’s ? are they red or orange? If you have the short red mini’s, you wouldn’t be able to double them , I don’t think…red short mini’s would be about same as doubled red mini’s. How fast are you moving the weight? (video?) Are you planning on coming up in Jan ? you want about 55-60% of max bench in straight weight and about 25% of max bench in band and/or chain weight.

They are black. I “thought” they were micro mini’s but I’m pretty sure they are short bands based on the elitefts website.

Monster short minis perhaps?

The band is black, about 12 inches and about half an inch wide.

You know you’re a lifter when someone mentions short minis and your first thought is bands not skirts.

Too much of chains on ground at lock out, a bigger carabiner should fix that. Now to get my milies back up to speed.

Nice work Joe, this looks like a fun workout. I really want some chains or bands, I’ve just been too busy or too lazy to make it happen.
