I’m considering these shoes.
The heel height is 0.6" instead of the standard 0.75" which will probably suit me better since I want to use them for deads. Plus I am coming from flat-soled Converse shoes.
Good looking shoes. I always liked the higher heel, felt like i could sit back more into the squat, but a higher heel does change your squat and takes some time getting used to. Seems like we are starting a squat shoe revolution lol.
My current shoes are getting a little tired and floppy. I’m just taking the lead of folks that know better that me ![]()
Have you ever squatted with a heel? If not i really think you’ll like it IMO. I just got some deadlift slippers (use fro deads lol)which i like, used wrestling shoes for years but the slippers feel like bare feet.

I haven’t ever squatted with a heel since starting to lift seriously a couple of years ago. I think it is worth $100 to find out how it feels.
I’m curious about the DL slippers. If they are good enough for you and Andy Bolton, there must be something to them ![]()
jacked legs = me gusta ![]()
so happy your family seems to be active, enjoying the outdoors and so darn healthy.
which color you planning to go with for the new sneaks? cause to a girl - shoe talk is more than sole height…

Well, since you obviously have impeccable frenchie taste, what do you recommend?

Well i would definetly take his word for it ![]()
And they’re cheap!
Deads 'n stuff
135 x 5
225 x 3
315 x 3
365 x 1
405 x 6…up 2 reps from last month. Noticed in the vid that I had very little hip “pop”. Didn’t feel like I was driving with my legs the way I should. The single beer I had an hour earlier probably didn’t help. Anywho.
315 x 5 x 3…for speed with focus on hips.
Leg curl
4 x 15
BW Chins
10,10,9
Cut session short since I’m doing a sports day tomorrow for Special Olympics.

Nice pulls!
Okay I’ve alway read that you want a flat shoe a la Chucks. What the heel advantage?

Appreciate it! I was hoping for 8 but that wasn’t happening. As a benchmark, I think I’ll do 405 once a month until I hit 10 reps. Just because.

There was some discussion over in dday’s thread. Apparently the raised heel makes hitting depth easier. Reduces some of the ankle mobility requirements I suppose.
I’m most interested in having a stable shoe that transfers energy to the ground.

I find this relevant to my interests. Looking forward to seeing what you think.

Are you going to rep out 1x per month at 405? What are you going to do dead wise the other 3 weeks?

I’ll do my regular 5/3/1 progression on the other weeks.
Re: the 405 reps, next month i’m supposed to do 410 for 3+ on my 3’s day. I think I’ll just stay at 405 and try for 8. The next month I’ll try for 10. If I can’t get to 10 in 2 months I’ll put my tail between my legs and go back to standard 5/3/1, lol.
Nice work Git!
Nice pulls.
Have you ever thought of D/L without shoes?
Thanks ddot and scott. Scott, I have never pulled barefoot or in socks. Guess I should try it.
Well, my all day charity sports-a-thon kicked my ass. Volleyball, basketball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, obstacle course, relay race and bocci ball.
But it was great. The special Olympian on our team was a cutie (pic attached). Such a positive person. Loved it. But, next year I’m training a couple of weeks for this craziness.
