Leg curl…do as many reps with toes pointed and then flex feet to get remaining reps

why point toes?
Pointing your toes takes the stretch out of the calf so it can’t assist as much with knee flexion. Hams are more isolated. Makes a surprisingly big difference. If I can only get 6 reps with toes pointed, and then I switch my foot position, I can usually get another 4-6 reps.
hmmm ill have to give it a try today, thanks

A gem from StormtheBeach on “experts” arguing over shit. I agree.

“Do whatever you want. Just don’t be fat and worthless and don’t be an overtly outspoken asshole about it.”

glad the deads are coming along for ya!

lol!

nice work on the deads Git

Deads look great Git! And nice deload.

That complex does sound wicked. I liked Pendlays too. Took me a hot minute to figure them out though. lol!

Hi Mainy and Masch!
Log is much less dreary when the hawt chicks stroll in.

Bench deload
95 x 5
115 x 5
135 x 5
155 x 4 x 5…tried to tighten up form and be explosive

JM press supersetted with ez bar curls
4 sets each

Chins supersetted with DB incline bench
4 sets each

Off to do some camping this weekend with the fam and some friends. Weather looks good. Should be fun. And I need a break from work.
Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks!

Good for you on doing the deload. I have to fight with my self every 4 weeks about it.

Got some good lifting there, Git. What’s Canada Day?

Happy Canada Day! I see its getting nice and warm in the shed, with the shorts instead of all bundled up. I approve.

Happy Canada Day eh!

Make sure you eat the back bacon, have some maple syrup and participate in at least one game of hockey today.

And of course Canadian Beer after the hockey game.

And don’t forget to kiss a Mountie and club a baby seal!!

I love racial stereotypes don’t you?

I shall celebrate by taking off my Bowler hat, getting myself a nice cup of tea and a slice of fish and chip pie and having a good old fashioned “knees up”, Gor blimey, 'ow’s ya father!!!

I will celebrate by driving around in a pick up truck with a Confederate flag in the back window through mud pits. Then I’ll take my arsenal of guns and shoot randomly in all directions while I get drunk and sing Dixie inbetween reloading.

Finally I’ll end the night gorging on fried chicken and sweet tea until I pass out in a pile of my cousins.

Being a mountain man, I don’t know what day it is but it is warm enouh now to take my yearly bath…

You bastards are funny, eh.

Been getting some biking in this weekend. Kids are awesome. Lots of steak, bacon and egg protein. And some veggies. Post workout nutrition is usually beer.

Beer makes a perfect post workout drink!!! My motto has always been never cut beer out of the diet, even when cutting weight…lol

Amen, kind of like a little nectar from the gods!

Squat deload
95 x 10
135 x 8
185 x 5
225 x 5

  • wore sneakers with a bit of a heel. First time squatting in non-flat shoes in about 2 years. My hip flexors were so tight I couldn’t concentrate on if the heel made a difference, lol. Should have done the sled work first to warmup.

Forward and backward sled stuff for about 20 minutes.
I’m starting to love this thing. Next time I use it, maybe tomorrow, I’m going to load it up and go for lower reps (6-8 per side). Less conditioning and more muscle building.

Pushups
5 x 20…various hand positions

I was buying some clothes for a business trip next week (Puerto Rico…never been) and the mirror showed I’m still a bit soft to my liking. More sled.

Shoulders and bis

Weight = 195. Down a couple more pounds.

Seems like a long time with the deload week being extended due to camping. Hot today…31C. That’s 88F for you folks south of the border.

OHP (5s day)
95 x 5
115 x 5
135 x 5
Switch to push press
155 x 5…no pop. felt weak. do over.
155 x 6…better
135 x 5
135 x 5
135 x 5 + 20 second hold

BB curls (reverse band)
65 x 10
85 x 5
115 x 5
135 x 5…the opposite of strict
115 x 8
115 x 8

  • alternating with
    Partial DB laterals
    20s x 15
    40s x 15
    50s x 15

Full range laterals
20s x 15 + 15 OHP

Cross body hammer curls
40s x 12
50s x 13

Rear delt raise…thumbs facing each other. Much better isolation than palms facing.
20s x 20
20s x 20

Listened to this during training. I love this song and could pull a PR to it. Pace around as the story starts to come together, grab the bar when Billy locks the door and lock it out when he kills the asshole boyfriend with the milk bottle. Good for you Billy, he deserved it.
