Westside Makes You Sexy

Didn’t plan on training but got 45 minutes to myself and figured i would work on a weakness. And I was cranky.

Biceps…a lot of biceps
Cross-body hammer…3 second eccentric
45 x 10,10 10

Barbell curls - reverse bands
95 x 5
115 x 8
135 x 3,3,3,3
No bands
115 x 5 x 5
95 x 8, 10, 15

EZ bar curls…3 second eccentric
60 x 5 x 10reps

Post workout
Beer, wine, steak, chicken, rice, mango/bean salad.
And probably a whisky for the hockey game later.

Bench +

w/u - external rotations and face pulls with bands. Awesome

95 x 5
135 x 3
185 x 3
205 x 3
225 x 3, 3, 1 (upper back slid on bench. lame)

Bench with bands

  • different bands, different weights mostly in the 5 rep range
    5 x 4-5 reps

Bench to high pins (lockout)

  • left the bands on and added some weight
    5 x 5

Band external rotations supersetted with face pulls

  • love this combination
    2 x 20 of each

Alright, alright, enough with the bands! We know you’ve got bands. Stop rubbing it in.

I wish I had bands. Sigh!

I’m doing pull aparts and rotation stuff with a bungee luggage strap hooked round my cage. No joke. It’s crap!!! But it works, kind of.

beer, wine and whiskey is the perfect post workout meal

Hahahahaha! I have to tell myself this now that I have bands.

I made a rule I couldn’t use them today for my leg session.

Yeah, it’s possible I may need to cycle them in and out a bit if I start to feel beat up. So far I luv 'em. I’d like to have chains too but they are pricey.

Are you doing band pull aparts as well?

Good call. I have done them but sporadically so I should add them in as a regular.
I also like band shoulder dislocates - they feel more natural than with a broomstick. Adjust tension by tightening hand position or going with a heavier band.

I do these at every shoulder/chest session. Shoulder saver for sure. And yes, doing them with bands are much better IMO than with the old broomstick.

Back training in the shed.

Figured rather than pulling from the floor, I would work on where I seem to stall which is just below the knees.

Rack pulls
225 x 3
275 x 3
315 x 3
365 x 3
405 x 3
455 x 1
475 x 1 (with false start)
495 x 0

  • not sure if next time I’ll lower it a pin and try and get the same weight or stay at this height and go for heavier. Knowing me I suspect the latter.

Rack pulls with Monster Mini bands standing on board (70lbs at the top). Trying for speed.
225 x 3
275 x 3
315 x 3
340 x 3

Wide grip pullups
5 x 5

Shrugs
340 x 20 (today’s cardio)

Whoring

Did you see what was on sale at EliteFTS today? I picked up the Pro Short Light Bands.

I just did about 10 minutes ago. But I think they only ship UPS. I don’t want to pay $40 at the border for a small item. Or have you figured out a way around that?

It’s only $16 to Ontario so it wasn’t that bad. My training partner is headed to Columbus this weekend (for unrelated matters); I should have had him pick them up.

I’m not sure which I prefer:
the big screaming Git or the dancing butt Git.
I kinda like that they are both one and the same

nice pulling. and yeah UPS rapes us with shipping. I tried to pick up 2 t-shirts the other day cost: 13$, with shipping 60$.

WTH?

Couldn’t you guys just get some one in the states to buy them and them ship them to you person to person?

So simple it’s brilliant. Now, who do I know in the States? waitaminute

Frenchie! Always a treat when you drop in.
I like training at home since I can scream and dance (poorly) and sing (even worse) and nobody looks at me funny.

USPS is cool but UPS drives me crazy.

Don’t the bands get unstable if they’re too close to the toes? I’m guessing they work best if under the foot arch?

You do have to watch where the bands sit. But as long as they are somewhere behind the ball of my foot they stay put.

Geez enough with the bands- damn these cannucks and their bands

nice rack pulls- good stuff.
