Westside Makes You Sexy

I really enjoy training at home too…
I kick myself for turning down a power cage(with bar+weights) for a STEAL pretty much…this was a couple months back. But I didn’t want to buy on impulse with no real place for it to go…
And then hubby turns around and says he would have built me my own shed for it <3

oh well…

keep ROCKIN it!!

Hi MiM!

Ohhh…your own training shed! I highly recommend it. And hubby sounds like a keeper for making that offer.
My training space is about 13’x 15’ with a high ceiling. Not spacious but lots of space for cage, dumbbell rack and other stuff. Put some old stereo gear out there and you are set
I think you should keep checking for used stuff.

I really need to find some time to finish mine with proper lighting and get the walls completed.

Geez enough with the bands- damn these cannucks and their bands

nice rack pulls- good stuff.[/quote]

Thanks.
I was reading some stuff by Bolton where he said that when working up to his first 1000+lb pull he did a cycle of heavy rack pulls (well, box pulls in his case) for a number of weeks and then went to pulling from the floor.
Not going to follow that approach, but I think adding pulls from below the knee will help.

Yes, sold as a pair. I have the short Monster Minis. They came with the Meadows package from EliteFTS. But, as I work with them a bit, I think I’m going to pick up the short Light, Average and maybe the Strong bands. The Minis will be used for bench and other stuff.

From the Elite site:
"Speed Pulls

Select a band tension close to 50-60% of the weight you will be using for your dynamic (speed work). Most lifters tend to use a weight between 40 and 60 percent of the best one rep max for speed work. If your max pull is 600 pounds then your training weight would be 300 and your band tension 150 pounds at the top (or whatever works out closest). You will then do 6-10 sets of one rep."

By that math, as an example, with a 500lb DL using 250lbs on the bar and a band tension of 125 at the top puts you between a Light and Average band.

I have a pair of Pro Short Light’s on the way and that’s in line with my max pull of 465. (Maybe 500 by summer’s end??)

Excellent thank you sir.

I like ‘rack’ pulls off of boxes over rack pulls
pulling in a cage I have a really hard time getting the bar moving

dont show farmer brett that you have that band chart .
geez.

I’m actually thinking about building some boxes.

I am concerned. I might need to send him some bands.

Don’t worry about me guys. I don’t need your band charity. I’ll just carry on with my bungee luggage strap.

It works fine, see?, see?, I’m doing some now. It’s fine look. (TWANG…SNAP!)

“OOOWWWW”…“MY EYE!!!”…“MY F###ING EYE!!!”…“AAAAHHHHH!!!”.

^ laugh my ass off.

why whats wrong with safety glasses while training??

I trained somewhere ages ago that had boxes made of 2x10 and smaller made of 2x6 that
stacked up for all kinds of fun

my shed will have them too.

cept I dont have no home gymz.

HAHAHA…Farmer you kill me.

kmc, I’ll need to give some thought on how to make the boxes stackable / adjustable

Band overhead extensions (sorry Farmer). OH extensions are THE best long head exercise for me and I’m happy that I have figured out a way to do them without having cables.
3 x 15-20

Agreed man, I use the light bands for them, they are awesome as a finisher as well. I usually do em after pulldowns my tris are fucking shot!

Awesome work as usual, I better step my game up! Your gaining on me!

I think we all gotta chip in and send Brett a band care package!

It’s great that this group pushes each other!

OK, I have a problem.

I bought an e-book from Andy Bolton and with it I can get a little e-consultation. I get three questions (sounds like the start of a fable) but I’m a bit stumped on what to ask.

One I want to ask is…Squat - building strength and power out of the hole

So I’m open to other ideas…that i can steal.

grip placement for deads? I keep switching around searching for grip Nirvana.
